Should've known better than to go to a redneck chain steakhouse but tried it last night anyway. First thing we noticed is that almost everyone there was obese. Wait staff was very friendly but as soon as we sat down they started trying to sell us a membership and telling us all the rewards points we could get etc. After declining, they continued with the sales pitch throughout the meal. That was annoying af and a real turn off.

The steaks were actually pretty good I'll give them that. Salads were terrible, soup wasn't good, shrimp were frozen and flattened like a pancake before frying.

Don't waste your money

I hope you didn't think it's a Michelin 3 star restaurant. It's a slightly better than average steakhouse. Always has been, always will be.

They have a good happy hour, cheap appetizers and cheap drinks. You can leave full and have a solid buzz rolling for about $25 after tip.

I go there often for lunch. It’s not a place I even consider for dinner, but with a wide variety of options, it’s a solid lunch option. You can eat as healthy or not healthy as you’d like to. It’s all available.

Which one did you go to? I've always had good experiences at the Baton Rouge one. They usually mention the select club thing when you get seated and then never again. Why were you surprised to see fat people at a steakhouse? Especially since a ton of people, in general, are fat. They have to eat somewhere.

Their salads are good imo and the honey mustard is the GOAT. I usually get a country fried steak and mashed potatoes and it's always good.

And don't get shrimp at a steakhouse.

That’s what I would go there for anyway. I can work around the other stuff. Thanks for the heads up though, good to know

New one in Covington, maybe that's part of the problem. The salad dressings were very watery for all of us (different dressings). The shrimp came with the steak dish. Normally shrimp at a steakhouse are great but most chains use the frozen shite so that's on me.

I don’t like saltgrass either but did you expect them to have fresh gulf shrimp straight out of grand isle or something?

There is one near me in the north Houston area and it’s always been fine. Never have had them say anything about a membership. Maybe that’s a new thing?

It's bad. It tastes like every other national chain. Saltgrass, Outback, etc... all of their steaks taste the same.
