"We are working with a tax resolution attorney and the IRS to settle all our debts," Stubbs said. Sad news. I've been a few times and enjoyed it.

Maybe the Murphree's will buy it. They could move the Sno Ball stand over there and expand their kitchen a bit. The new covered patio, and bar to be, are great additions and they could use the space.

It's a tough business to be in for sure.

The margins are horrible. And he and the woman who he went into business with were new to the restaurant business. Nathan was writing for the alt-weekly in Lafayette and she was a longtime freelancer in Acadiana.

Yeah, he seemed about the most reasonable/classy person amongst that group of yellow, trash “journalists”.

All of them have good food, but are trying to cater to the same, small group of people. Also, it seems none of them have any experience running a business.

I think SSI started its problems when that chick chef left a few years back. She must've been running the books and everything

It's always difficult to deal with employee theft driven by substance abuse, but the rest of that statement just screams "we didn't know how to run a business." Do you really share that level of detail with the public? But I'm often perplexed by businesses that overshare details best left private.

I used to agree. Lots of interesting menu items executed fairly well.

Service was spotty though, at least for me. I usually have a hard and fast work commitment in that area several days per week that starts at 1 pm. I'd get there at 12 noon and barely get out of there on time. It got to where I would just order the soup to make it easy and fast, but no, it would be 12:50pm and I still hadn't gotten my soup. Come on guys, just ladle some soup in bowl and send it out.
That's what ended it for me.
