The Advocate with the story.

Hard game this restaurant scene.

Never went after seeing the prices on the opening menu. That is a weird location too.

And yet at least 50 new places open in NOLA every year and a lot of them are nothing to write home about.

I thought when they opened their prices were a bit higher than they should have been.

That’s the two attention whores on tv? He tries way too hard. Should’ve stayed in New Roads.

We are a gold-crusted alligator beignet away from restaurants here just going the Vegas club route and running one concept for 5 years before shutting the whole thing down on their own to renovate and toss up a new concept.

And in 100 years, after all these restaurants have come and are long gone, Arnaud's, Commander's Palace, Antoine's, etc. will still be there, working on their third centuries.

Service. I have never revisited a restaurant that gave me bad service. I care more about how I was treated than any menu, wine list, or James Beard awards.

And close down the next year

Sac A Lait did things no one else is doing in the city and executed them well, but like mentioned their price was very high. Place was always empty

He was originally planning on opening in BR if I recall. He would have had a goldmine and far less competition: also could lower prices because of monthly rent

It’s why I’ve only been to Peche once. Horrible service, and with so many other good options to hit, I’m not likely to return.

I have a feeling BR will be their next step. They can’t get rich in New Roads.

Never had a bad meal or service at peche, one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans.

You’re missing out.

Nah, many, many other good choices in New Orleans. The experience was that bad, I don’t need to risk a repeat.

What did you like there that is better than something similar somewhere else?

Before opening Sac-a-Lait rumor was that they were close to purchasing land to build a restaurant in SE BR. There ultimate goal was to have a restaurant that could compete for a James Beard awards and thought NO gave them a better shot.

I like that Cody was accessible and creative. I could go in there and tell him to “feed me” and he’d bring out all the best dishes and some experimental ones as well. That’s a tough question.

Where else do you get dishes like this? Their menu is so different it's almost like it's fake

octopus courtbouillon
alligator and mirliton
duck hearts
smoked frog
backstrap
pig's ear
fried veal brain
crawfish tourtiere
