Afternoon gents,

My wife and I are heading into BR for a night as she takes her NCLEX exam tomorrow morning. We received a Ruth Chris gift card as a wedding present and do not have one locally so we are planning to use it tomorrow while in town (we're about 2 hours west of BR). Any must haves on the menu? Dress attire necessary? Planning on going around lunch time. Thanks,

Filet is a must. Creamed spinach is good too.

Slacks/chinos and a button down or better. Don’t be that guy in your church jeans.

Did you check for reservations? They are hard to get into even at lunch, but lunch is at least easier than dinner with just 2 people. May just be at the bar worst case.

This is pretty much my exact order. I do wish they would bring back the lyonnaise potatoes though. They’ve been off the menu for probably 15 years now and I still ask for them every time.

The BR location? They’ve had them every time we’ve ordered the past several years. Not seeing them online though. Weird.

The crab cakes app is another can’t miss. I hold onto their awesome remoulade sauce that comes with it if we plan to get steak fries.

Potatoes au gratin. Creamed spinach. Sweet potato casserole as dessert. Broccoli au gratin also very good.

My meal there is 1. Lobster Bisque, 2. Ribeye medium rare with a side of mashed potatoes. The calimari is awesome if you require a second appetizer.

Dress - well, they let people in there that should be ashamed of what they are wearing but business casual is my minimal for walking in there.

Honestly I haven’t been to the BR location I since before TJ Moran died. I normally just go to Ruth’s when I’m at our Dallas office since it’s right by the airport. Maybe they have it here in town since it’s an independent franchise??

Gotta get the tuna app. Crab stuffed mushrooms are great too but the seared tuna is a must get.
I hear the chopped salad is good but I can never break away from their Caesar. It's my favorite Caesar salad in the world.
Filet or the porterhouse for 2 for your meat

I usually drink about 3-4 of their new york sours every time. So fricking good.

Make sure, when they ask if you are celebrating anything, to say that you are celebrating your wedding. That will give you a free blueberry cheesecake (although you can opt for a different free dessert).

Dress in business casual and you'll be fine

It's a chain restaurant in Baton Rouge. Don't overthink it.

When the wife and I go it's usually the ribeye for me, filet for her and 2 sides----creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin.

Toss in a cocktail or two for me and a glass of wine or two for the wife and we've never gotten as far as dessert with being so full from the meal.
