There's a rumor going around that a new vendor has opened serious discussions to finalize a deal to open a permanent, year round restaurant in Champion's Square area/the old Macy's building. Its supposedly someone we don't have.

Anyone heard anything? Know anything?

It will probably be chain crap (Dave and Busters? FOXSportsZone?), but any development with that property is good in my eyes.

Seems like it will be a tough sell, but I'm happy so see anyone try to give it a go.

Bids are being solicited currently for vendors in Champions Square who would provide lunch service and service during dome and baby dome events. Could be a whole lot of restaurants bidding on that.

Also, Hyatt will have new restaurants and another development is going in down there. So yes, lots of activity.

Did hear a little birdie that a Five Guys is coming in town on Carrollton across from Little Tokyo.

What's that Company Burger place opening on Freret?

Is that some sort of chain?

No. Company Burger is owned by Adam Biderman, a local boy who has cooked in Atlanta and most recently Herbsaint. Adam is a great cook and I expect Company Burger will become a favorite real quick. Keep an eye out for his pork belly corndogs, they are the real deal Holyfield.

I still say get Taco Mac in there. One of the best sports bars I have ever been to.

Any risk of Burger Place over-saturation around here?

Dave and Busters would be a disaster.

I've heard Dave & Buster, ESPN Zone & FOXSportsZone. None from a reliable source. Just brother-in-law talk.

I think it would be a hit for about 3 months, then the novelty will wear off. just don't think we have the money to sustain a place like that

I think it would be well sustained, but it's real close to the projects. I think it would invite a non friendly element there. :inb4racist: (not referring to a certain demographic but rather a certain criminal element that propagates the projects)

Yes. I think locally owned places will do ok, but it is going to be tough for the Smashburger and Five Guys to grab enough business in Orleans Parish proper. Just my opinion, but those guys are going to be 2 years late.

YES!!! The tables with the beer taps that you can control yourself are awesome, particulary when there is a big event and the place is packed.

I've never had Five Guys. That location would be good, but I'll have to wait and see if I would choose to go there over Bud's or Lee's.

I would welcome these places but.... the selection of quality sports bar in NOLA has sucked for ever and now we're going to have:
Hyatt
Manning's
Walk-Ons
Happy's

Something's gotta give.
