Went for the first time last night. Really good food and the service was fantastic. They have only been open a week so there are a lot of folks coming by checking on you and asking how everything is. It got annoying after a while but that will calm down. The "privacy" booths were really nice. Crab cake appetizer was all crab and very tasty. Etouffee was fantastic as well. Nice mix of food choices. Happy it is in the Rowe.

End of June.

I haven't made it yet, but I'm excited to try the concept. I'll be curious to see how it compares/contrasts with Eliza.

Eliza and Cecelia are the only two creole restaurants in town, at least to my knowledge. I think Eliza is better, which is why it’s my creole benchmark.

I feel like I’m missing something with your question

I love Eliza and the food there is fantastic. The vibe is different. Eliza is more for couples or small parties. I could see have a big group meet at Rouj. I think Beausoleil is also creole-focused.

The wife and I went last night. Lots of options on the menu and both of our meals were great. Place was packed (in a good way) too.

Ate there Wednesday and really enjoyed it. Concur that service was excellent. The only dish at our table that missed the mark was the Paella because the fish was dry.

Went today. My wife got the burger which was really good. I got the oyster blt. Lots of big oysters but lacked in flavor but the quality was there if that makes any sense. Had to ask for several things like salt and pepper, tea sweeteners, lemon, and condiments. Nothing is on the table.

For the location and what it is I thought it to be good but pricey especially the steaks and meats.

Yeah. I’m not one to complain about price, but their steaks were way overpriced.

Went there Sunday for Lunch. I'm going to give it time to get their shite together, but was not impressed.

Had the Moules Frites for an appetizer. Muscles were ok, nothing special. I wouldn't order them again.

Wife had a side salad and the crawfish tamales for her meal. Salad was excellent. Tamales were very average. Very bland, not much flavor, and not sure where the crawfish went.
I had the brisket stuffed poboy. It was very dry. The menu stated it had debris gravy in the poboy. No debris gravy was found. I had to ask for a side of gravy. The gravy was also underwhelming. The "Cajun Fries" were lightly seasoned fries. Again, nothing special.
Some other "issues". Despite the restaurant being not very full, it took about 30 minutes to get our food. The appetizer finally came out, and a couple minutes later came the entrees. Ordered an Ice T with lemon. No lemon. And it is very pricey.

I am going to give it a few months to correct things before i go back, if i go back. But the main thing, is the food needs to get better.

OH, and the drink prices are absurd. $10 for a Parish Reve' stout. I took a look at their beer prices and decided to just have Tea.

Went today. It was okay. Nice drink menu. Got the Johnny cake shrimp tacos as an appetizer. They were different, but really good. Wife got the burger. It was a little plain, but not bad. I got the brisket poboy. There was a lot of meat and I liked the addition of cheese melted on the top, but it needed more a jus.

It was good, but not great. We will go again and try something from the dinner menu.

We went last weekend. We had oysters for an app. They were kind of small but decent. Wife had the filet and I had a ribeye and we split some asparagus. The steaks were very good.

The drink menu was interesting. Wife had some white drink with a flower in it and I had a couple of whiskey sours. Both were very good.

Went tonight. Wife had the Redfish Roulade. It was good, interesting to have fish stuffed with cornbread dressing, but the sweetness of the cornbread went well with the fish and red pepper sauce. I had the charbroiled oysters, average, cheese needed to see more heat and most of the garlic butter sauce was under the oysters in the skillet/pie pan. Also had the Seafood Carbonara, which was very good, but needed to be served with crusty bread to sop up the creamy sauce. Wines were on the expensive side, but typical.

We went last night. Crowded, no reservation, but we were able to find a spot at the bar after only being there for five minutes.

Service was great and the food was even better.

The standout dish for us was charbroiled shrimp and the standout appetizers was the crawfish tamales. The best side was easily the cauliflower as gratin.

Just had this for the first time, and wow. It was very good.

Bottle of wine
Bacon jalapeño chargrilled shrimp
Mussels and frites
Hot frog legs
Redfish roulade (stuffed with crawfish stuffing)
Massive grilled asparagus

Everything was fantastic.
