Anyone ever eat down there? Had it today for lunch off of a recommendation. Terrific food.

Got the small meatball sub (two sandwiches) and the potato salad with red gravy on top (by recommendation) it was terrific.

Will return

Good food but nobody needs 6 pounds of baked Mac and Cheese

Yeah the Mac is famous but I didn’t order. Looked like Mac and Cheese to me. Never been a huge fan. The red gravy was really good. Especially on top of the potato salad.

In all the old NO family owned restaurants your baked macaroni was a signature dish, best I ever had was at Jack Dempsey’s on Poland.

The Mac and Cheese there is fantastic. It’s a ridiculous portion but you don’t have to eat it all.

Was just told the potato salad was really good. Almost ordered some instead of fries.

I've been eating food by Rocky & Carlo long before there was ever a Rocky & Carlo's. They were brought over from Italy by a guy named Angelo who had a business just like theirs, also on St. Bernard Hwy., just a bit farther down if I recall correctly.

They worked for Angelo for a few years and then split off and opened their own business, putting Angelo out of business eventually.

Love it.

Totally worth the drive.

The brucioloni with their max&cheese (Wednesday’s only) is one of my favorite meals from any restaurant.

was afraid katrina might have washed all of the flavor out of that place.

do the fat women in the kitchen still carry the french bread under their arms? That was always inviting.

Assuming Rocky isn't still around? Who collects the money these days?

His son Tommy. I went to high school with him and he's taken the old man's place behind the register.

Not only did Katrina do a number on the place, but a few years after it was renovated and reopened, they had a huge fire that tore the place up and had to be renovated again. It is now the cleanest it's ever been and the food is still the same with few exceptions. The PC crowd nixed the "Wop Salad" so now you can order the Italian Salad. But, if you order a Wop Salad, they still know what you want.

I heard the same thing about the French bread under the arms and looked very closely for it. Didn’t see any health code violations. In fact, the kitchen looks new and clean. You can see the whole thing

Grew up in da parish. had many many meals at Rocky's. always kinda laughed at how he would not let anyone else handle the money.

was a great place to catch a parade when they used to ride on St. Bernard hwy.
