I'm going to Asheville in a few weeks for a wedding and would like to know of a few good places to eat. I'm not looking for high-end places. I'd prefer some more casual places similar to Mike Anderson's, NOF&S, etc.

I like nearly every cuisine except Indian and African. Further, I doubt I'll be craving anything Asian so you can throw that one out too.

Thanks.

when you think about NC most people think first about BBQ. but sadly Asheville is NOT a good city to get good NC bbq in. Luella's is probably your best bet if that's what you're going for.

other than that the only other restaurants I've been to in Asheville are Corner Kitchen and Salsa's. both were very good.

Good lunch spot.

For dinner, there's a neat place in the Biltmore Village, outside the gates of the Estate. It's called the Corner Kitchen. Does a real good job with fresh local ingredients.

You could also try the Grill in the Biltmore itself. The food's good, but as with most of the stuff on the Biltmore Estate, the place is a tad over the top for my tastes.

I like Asheville a lot.

Enjoyed Ed Boudreaux's Bayou BBQ. Check out the sauce bar with 14 different sauces. Plus, great selection of beers including most local and regional microbreweries.

Also, the grand hotel of Asheville is the Grove Park Inn. If in your price range, great place to stay. Even if you stay elsewhere, go there for a drink or the cook-to-order breakfast buffet. Cool looking, great views and stone fireplaces you could park a truck in.

We had lunch at Tupelo Honey (downtown location) after visiting the Biltmore in July.

It was great! They serve you a huge homemade biscuit before your meal. The home fries are really good.

The atmosphere is great and you can see what's happening in the kitchen.

THIS! Sunday breakfast is the shite! Flat Rock grill was nice, and The Boathouse was great for a more upscale meal.

It's been awhile since I've lived there; but they had a lot of small, good, off-the-grid places.

They have some great microbrews too.
