La Frites Belgian Bistro Bistro has great food and beer selection.

The FreshMarket in Perkins Row has them sometimes.
Enjoyed Ed Boudreaux's Bayou BBQ. Check out the sauce bar with 14 different sauces. Plus, great selection of beers including most local and regional microbreweries.

Also, the grand hotel of Asheville is the Grove Park Inn. If in your price range, great place to stay. Even if you stay elsewhere, go there for a drink or the cook-to-order breakfast buffet. Cool looking, great views and stone fireplaces you could park a truck in.

I agree.
I agree.
We went last Monday and were disappointed. The steaks were only average.
Don't think I would go back.

I like the super burger. cheese, bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos.
I tried both Hickory House BBQ and New York Pizza. Both were good. (Another post suggested Blue Maize, but it had closed.)
We enjoyed Zane's for casual bar type food. Very good Philly cheesesteak and buffalo wings with Fat Tire on tap.
Su Casa is a very good Mexican restaurant. If you haven't tried it, give it a try. Lots of different items on menu that we do not see in BR. They use a lot of fresh veggies it makes a difference. Try the "Crazy Pig" (no pork)if you have two other hungry people to help. Jumbo shrimp, scallops, calamari, fresh zucchini, fresh peppers, and cilantro in a tomato based sauce served in a heated lava stone pig.
Wienerstube Restaurant just started serving dinner. If you like German/Austrian food, it was good, but the chef and waiter made it a great evening. If you are up for it, try the 2 liter boot of beer.
Aspen was beautiful, the food was good, the weather near perfect and I already want to go back.
