Likely will sit out on this one. Artichokes are not my thing. Not that it mattered all that much.

How was it? Looks delicious!

I steamed an artichoke last week and ate it with garlic butter. I was hoping it would inspire me. It was tasty, but not inspirational.

I make a seriously mean stuffed artichoke, but my favorite artichoke dish was the Seafood Stuffed Artichoke from Carmines on Vets that is now closed.

Damn thing was listed as an appetizer but was a meal for 2 in reality since it was so rich. They loaded a huge artichoke with seafood and then covered it in a rich, creamy dill sauce.

Are you going to enter a stuffed artichoke in the challenge? Sounds like you should!

If it needs to include pics, I'm lost. Don't have a digital camera, own a flip phone and don't really know how to post pics.

Yeah, I'm that lame.

I ate at Carmine's only one time, back in the early-mid 90s...and this is the dish I ate (of the many we ordered). Holy shite, it was the most loaded and flavorful dish, the most bestest way artichoke could EVER be done.

I can remember the first time I had it. It was at Carmine's when the restaurant was in Bucktown and it was on the menu as an appetizer. I was with a gal I was dating at the time and had never been to Carmine's so I didn't know what to expect.

Anyway, we decided to try the artichoke as an appetizer and then each ordered a salad and entree' with a couple cocktails. When that artichoke came out I just knew the the rest of the meal was going to be taken home in go-boxes.

That place in Bucktown closed due to a divorce I had heard and the new location on Vets was opened. And that one has since closed.

I am the same, but I have made half of my dish before, just not the other half.... Anxious to see how it turns out.

I didn’t realize how many different kinds there were. These are baby artichokes. I tried to get some baby purple ones but I think they are out of season…couldn’t find any.

Welllll. I tried to make mine yesterday. Spent hours making fresh sausage, cooking a red sauce, making pasta. Then came time to cut up my baby artichokes….and they were bad Soft, brown, bad through and through. Not only that they were not baby enough. They are supposed to be smaller and not have the fuzz/choke in them so it’s compliantly edible, but these were not. The sads….will not be entering. My garlic and basil chicken sausage was da bomb tho lol.
