That is a tough one because as others have said there really are not many bottles in that price range at retail. However, Wild Turkey Master's Keep is an excellent bottle of Bourbon. It is 17 years old and barrel proof. Most barrel proof whiskeys are 100+ proof but this one is only 86 proof. So it has all the robust flavor but not the heat that you normally find in a barrel proof Bourbon. The bottle is first class and it comes in a cool box which is perfect for gift giving. You can find this bottle at several places in BR. I've seen it recently at Calandro's and Hokus Pokus and it will cost you about $150.

I tried Elmer T Lee Signature recently at a bar. Not sure what it runs a bottle.

Just get a store barrel pick of Four Roses just about any recipe is good, but especially the K or O recipes. Or any other Barrel pick whether Knob Creek, Eagle Rare, or Buffalo Trace. Pocket the extra 100-120 depending on which one you buy. Take the wife/gf out for a nice dinner on new years and get lucky.

Possibly. I do not know if I still have a picture of the label, but it was a slender bottle with a white label and red writing. I swore it was Black Maple Hill 21, cask something I remember it had a black wax seal. I could very easily be mistaken and it might have been a non aged, but I thought the 21 at the price point was what drew my attention from the other bourbons we were eyeing in that price range.

If you are looking for Whistle Pig, Hokus Pokus has 10 and 12. Not sure if they have The Boss Hog. They had 3 varieties last time I was there. $120 was the priciest. That WT masters keep is probably the priciest bottle you are going to find on a shelf in BR

Well then it looks like I am mistaken,
. ETA: I did a google search and it turns out we were both right. The gold wax and lettering is cask 2, which sells for $3100. The Black wax and red writing was cask 7, which MSRP'd in 2015 for $43, but is now in excess of $300.

I just clicked the link to buy now and it gave me the option to be put on a waiting list, or I could look at another offer. The other offer was a link to another site for $3,400 for the cask 7. So I guess I remembered correctly, but you are correct that the price is astronomical. Now, I wish I would have kept the seal on that bad boy and just drank some beam. Man was that some good stuff though.

For the OP, if they definitely want bourbon, I would go with 2 or 3 nice bottles instead of one in that price range. Scotch is a different story.

OP I'd get a bottle of EHT single barrel, barrel proof, and rye. Like others have said sadly anything that msrp for 150-200 is candy for flippers. I'd get a hand full of solid pours unless you have a connection to get top shelf stuff.

A bottle of Hibiki 12 year
A bottle for yourself.
Most people that aren't bourbon aficionados have never tried Hibiki. It's surprisingly delicious and exotic being from Japan. Would be a cool gift.

They have one of those at Costco for $117. My father in law bought me one for my birthday this past year.... it is fantastic.

Awesome idea. Very distinctive bottles, and being of the same name, work well as a package deal. They are also delicious.
