Overall 7.5

Meats:
Turkey 6
Brisket 8
Small spiral ham 7

Sides:
green bean casserole 9
Smashed potatoes 5
5 cheese Mac 8

Snacks:
Conecuh sausage w/ mustard & pepper jelly
Deviled eggs 9
Trail mix - 6

Dessert:
Carrot Soufflé 9
Apple pie - *N/A * = gifted
Left over cinnamon bread from breakfast 7

It wasn’t our finest work but it was a solid meal. My prep has gotten better but I’ve lost focus on the actual timing medley of the cooking. I’m a social cat so sometimes I forget to check in things because I’m running my mouth

How’d y’all make out?

Overall a 7.5.

Duck breasts, half were a 5, the other half were an 8
Pheasant breasts 5
Scallops 9

Spinach stuffed shells 9
Salad, store bought

Roasted garlic and cambozola 10
Shrimp cocktail (store bought, steamed shrimp)

Mom’s beau brought some bone-in pheasant breasts, had never cooked pheasant before, I’d give myself credit for pretty average first try. Overall I give myself high marks for effort, but admittedly some of the proteins got away from me, too many pots in the fire.

That’s next level holiday dining. I have too many bland eaters to pull that off. I woulda had to have been perfect and that’s just not me when it comes to cooking

We're vacationing in Utah but still made Chicken and Sausage gumbo. I give it a 7 only because the sausage we bought here was subpar

Spiral sliced ham on the grill
cornbread dressing
green bean casserole
cranberry chutney
rolls.

7.5 maybe.

The kids didn't show because of Covid, so it was just the two of us and we cut back. Throw in the deserts, some kind of nut torte and a burnt Basque cheesecake, and it jumps up a bit.

Made a pork tenderloin roulade (3 butterflied and trussed together) stuffed with prosciutto, Gruyère, Dijon and herbs served with a mustard cream sauce. Sides were fondant potatoes and lemon roasted broccoli with parsley and breadcrumb gremolata. Overall, about an 8.5.

Went with an Italian themed Christmas meal this year. We did a build your own pasta bar which was delicious.
MIL made salad and brought Olive Garden bread sticks 5/10
Wife and I made home made alfredo sauce (9.5/10) and a sundried tomato cream sauce (10/10) to go with either spaghetti noodles or fetuccine. I blackened chicken (7/10) and shrimp (9/10) and had some store bought meatballs (6/10). I went with blacked shrimp, alfredo, and fetuccine (10/10). For dessert we picked up a Tiramisu and chocolate dipped cannolis from Angelo Brocato's. Both were 10/10. Fantastic Christmas meal!
