Ramen noodles

How do you cook your cheap ramen noodles?
Do you add anything specific into them so they can be more fancy?
I usually put some onion, what ever meat I have in the refrigerator and just about every Asian sauce I have in my cabinets. The one thing I also do is have very little to no liquid (still add my seasoning packet once I drain everything) when I start to add in my sauces.

An egg, frozen peas or spinach, and if no leftover meat or seafood lying about, a couple of chicken tenders from frozen. Sriracha.

Nongshim’s Shin Ramyum are good on its own. I had a Korean friend visiting me one time and he saw this brand and gave me quiet thumb up. But I usually add a soft boiled egg and diced green onions.

I just add an extra brick of noodles.

I dont eat them. However, I do fix for the kids. I drain all water off and add season.

Really good with any leftover holiday roast either shaved thin or cubed small.
Leave the fat on and add meat immediately after taking noodles off stove.

Soy sauce, oyster sauce, scrambled eggs, water chestnuts, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, sautéed onions, bell peppers, thin sliced pork tenderloin, shrimp, chicken.
Any combination of the above ingredients. Depends what’s on hand.

Just enough boiling water to cover and put the damn seasoning in BEFORE the noodles so they cook in the broth.
I love them just how they are, maybe add some soy sauce to the oriental or some better than bullion to the chicken, but that's it.

I do similar, but don't put the noodles in the pot to boil. I use about half of what the package calls for and boil that with the seasonings, then pour that over the noodles in a bowl and let it cool a few minutes. Leaves them a little crunchier. Of course I'll still eat them crushed up and dry with the seasoning packet shaken in the bag.

The broth is so good though.

Glitch in the matrix. I think we're the same person.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but I've been introducing my kids to all the cheap crappy food I ate growing up, mainly as an excuse to always have some on hand. Daughter took to ramen, son took to Vienna sausages. Wife thinks we're a little redneck, and won't even try any of it, but that's just more for the rest of us.

I only eat them when I'm congested or my throat is bothering me. I use 1 cup of unsalted chicken broth, 1 cup of water. Cayenne Pepper, lemon pepper & Italian seasoning. Season before putting in noodles.
Amount of cayenne pepper varies based on how much my throat is flared up.

I never use the season packet. I cook em w/ a creme of shrimp soup and some shrimp, beef flavor w/ ground beef or bison,& gravy. Sometimes w/ just different veggies w/ Alfredo sauce ,etc

I eat ramen all the time. Here are a few of my tips.
Cook as per the directions then do this.
1. Add one of the following. A. Good fish sauce. B. Accent seasoning (pure msg). C. Hondashi
2. Add to the broth white or yellow chopped onions and a little bit of ginger.
3. Add a protein. My favorites are fried spam, grilled pork chops, boiled shrimp, or roasted pork loin (which one I pick depends on the base flavor of the soup).
4. Add a six minute egg OR a scrambled egg. Both are game changers.
5. Add a fat to the finished bowl. A tbsp of toasted sesame oil, chili oil, or butter are my favorites but if you happen to have lard or chicken oil (schmaltz), those are fire also. If you would prefer, you could add a quarter brick of cream cheese to the broth and whisk until emulsified before adding the noodles. This will make it creamier. Don’t do this if you add an oil at the end because it is too much. Pick one.
6. You can cook a can of corn on the side and add about half of it to the finished broth.
7. Add chopped fresh green onions before eating. Add a little soy sauce or a tbsp of miso paste.
ETA: I almost forgot. Add a splash of rice vinegar just before you pull it from the stove.

Ramen game is strong. Only thing I can contribute to this is Sambal Oelek as a marinade for the protein or directly in the pot at step 2.

The shin black is my favorite. I put like the bone broth pocket in and a quarter of the spice one. It’s so damn good.

Cook noodles, without seasoning packet, drain. Saute butter, garlic, sesame oil, green onions. Boom.

Looks delicious.
Imagine all the stuff in that picture that makes it delicious also makes it less cheap.
