I've been buying the monster pack of chicken tenderloins from Costco and blacken them. I'm gonna try dipping them in the Cane's sauce.

Anybody have the recipe on how to cook the Popeye's blackened tenders? Cooked fresh, those are hard to beat.

I could see how the less-Mayo/more-Worcestershire could make a difference texture-wise.

The OP recipe has the same flavor, but when chilled, it is less “soupy” than the actual Cane’s sauce.

I’ve always figured this is what the sauce is comprised of. Glad to know I was right.

Ranch, ketchup, Worcestershire in equal parts. Sit in fridge for 24 hours and it’s done. That’s cane’s sauce.

Some run of the mill counter worker at Cane’s isn’t going to have the Cane’s recipe. It’s made in BR by a business specifically for them. Not hard to get close though.

False. The GMs at every location make it every morning. Only employee at each location that have the recipe. Reason I know this is because I have a friend that works in the exec office in BR and has told me this.

They make it with a mix that is pre-made. Nobody in the location has that mix.

Wouldn't that basically force them to increase the number of fryer's in the kitchen. I've never stepped foot in their kitchen, but I always assumed that part of what makes them successful is their speed. By basically having only 2 items they only need 2 fryers going at once. 1 for chicken, 1 for fries, griddle for breads. If you bring in a 3rd item (spicy chicken), they would need to add a 3rd fry station. Probably also why they don't offer a grilled chicken option

Not saying it isn't impossible, or would be that much more of an investment; just why I've always assumed they don't have a spicy option.

Things were a lot looser when the chain was young. The recipes I posted are decades old.

Agreed. The Popeyes blackened tenders were my fast food favorite until they discontinued them.

That being said, the zatarans blackening seasoning is damn close to the Popeyes flavor. I de-tendon a pack of chicken tenders, season with zatarans, and cook on black cast iron about twice a month. Mix a little of the blackened seasoning in some ranch for dipping and then stand back while the family devours them.

Again, I’m not claiming it to be identical, but it is very close.

If cane’s sauce gets you excited, you should be in the OT lounge, not the F&D board.

We definitely made it from scratch in the store when canes first started. Can confirm that Stadium Rat’s recipe is accurate.

Bump…

The original post recipe for canes sauce is correct, but the secret is, you have to let it sit for 3-5 days in fridge. Sauce does something magical in that time
