It sucks with butter on it, and nothing sucks with butter on it. Except maybe turnips.

So has anyone heard of a sweet preparation or was this one fine troll?

I mean, it exists.
I don't think it was a troll. I just think it probably isn't as satisfying as oats or something when it comes to sweet dishes.

This thread got me thinking about it.
I stir fried some asparagus, peppers & onions, with cumin seeds, red pepper, and soy sauce. Served it over hot quinoa with cilantro, lime juice, and more soy sauce. It's pretty good.

I thinks it's best quality when it comes to taste is that it really takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it in/with.

No trolling, i promise Brah.
I mentioned earlier, i've had it from a vegan/hipster spot in Atlanta as a hot breakfast with brown sugar and berries and it was good.
If i'm not mistaken, i saw it at Aldi about a week ago as a pre-packaged hot breakfast cereal, right next to the oatmeal and cream of wheat.

Savory only. Quinialaya, sub it for rice in gumbo, stew, etc.
Same here. Never thought I'd like the stuff. First time was a fail but I've come to prefer quinoa over rice in my jambalaya.
Quinoa pizza bites are the tittyballs. Sams carries frozen quinoa w garlic and basil that makes it much easier.

I make quinoa bowls all the time. I usually do a Mexican version and an Asian version. Pack them with chicken and tons of veggies. They are great to bring to work and heat up for lunch. It holds flavor well, without getting overly soggy. Plus you still get the lightness of quinoa, so you don't feel bloated after and groggy.

It's gonna sound crazy, but we used quinoa instead of rice for chili one time, and it was awesome. I mean it was good to the point that I always ask when we're making chili if we have quinoa in the house. Given that, I can see it being really good in jambalaya too even though we haven't made it.

Savory, I just put mine in rice cooker with a tablespoon of salted butter and a tablespoon of fish sauce. Great side to any meat. Picks up flavors from the runoff juices of grilled pork or chicken

Chili with rice sounds bad enough but with QUINOA?
Posted on 2/26/16 at 11:36 am to arn
Quinoa hardly has any taste unless you get red quinoa.
I swear, bunch of pansies in here.
I roast mine in a pan for a few seconds the boil with water and low sodium chicken broth.

My wife uses it as rice substitute for black eyed peas and casseroles sometimes. Not my favorite but it's ok. She added some to a teriyaki stir fry and it was pretty good.

It's a good protein boost.
No. 8 grams of protein per 35 grams of carbohydrates is not a good protein boost. A piece of chicken is a good protein boost.

Quinoa is considered a complete protein.

That comes with an arse-load of carbohydrates.
