this!!!!!

at least the first time you're trying something this ambitious.

if nothing else, hermit mode for a few weeks will elicit ooohs and aaahs from people when you reappear 20 or 30lbs lighter.

nothing is as motivating as a constant stream of people saying 'wow..you're losing weight huh?'

once you find your groove and gain confidence..sure..have at it. go to social outings.

heck i went to have a few beers last night with 2 lady friends ...one of which i am bat shite crazy about..and just came home after and didn't eat.

its all about balance..the old me would have hit wafflehouse on the way home and tore through 2000 calories.

Morning guys.. 363/355/250 8 pounds so far

ETA:
I've done my math wrong, I'm about to go back through my posts and see where I screwed up my math haha. Somehow I had the idea that I lost 11 pounds so far. 8 ain't a bad start either!

Double ETA:
I see what happened, I somehow gained back 1 pound one day and for some reason my brain registered as losing two..? wth. haha. I'm surprised that I didn't lose that one day. Must have been when I weighed later in the day because I forgot to weigh in the morning.. idiot :P

1. Then I wouldn't have anything to bitch about.
2. I was hoping it would arrive on the 2/28 estimated day and then they said it would definitely arrive 3/4. So I was unhappy it was taking so long but I could tolerate getting it tomorrow so I could re-learn to ride a bike without killing myself over the weekend.

I sent them an email last night after I received notice of the delay demanding they cancel the order and asked them to let me know if they thought 19 days for an online order was acceptable.

Cad,

I have no budget. I explained that to you the first time then you went off on some dissertation on buying bikes for 3 to 5 hundred dollars.

myth..when you get the bike focus on a high cadence...like 90 rpms or higher..and a lighter/easier gear rather than pedalling at 30 rpms in a huge gear...higher cadence will keep your legs from gettting fatigued so you can ride longer and is also more efficient at burning calories

I want my money back.

I kid.

I will be asking advice on gears and how all that crap works if I ever get a bike.

the good news is even the ten thousand dollar jobbies...are still just a BICYCLE!!!

the $90 walmart bike gears work exactly like the $10,000 ones and they're very easy to work on..all you need is a couple of hex wrenches & a screwdriver.

why must I have a voodoo priestess cast a hex on a wrench? I don't drink anymore so I can't have the screwdriver.

Bike Update

1. $9.00 discount and hope it comes on the 12th

2. Refund in 3 to 4 days but when the bike actually arrives I must go to the store to decline the bike or I will be charged for the bike.

I take number B.

How insane is it that I have to go into the store to decline a bike that I just declined on the phone?

The guy said there was nothing he could do if I declined both. I said I wasn't declining the refund. I wanted the refund and I was canceling my order on the phone. He said he simply could not do that.

I asked to speak to his manager. He said he was the manager, I said I wanted to speak to his supervisor. He said the supervisor was out and would not be back for hours. I said I would wait.

I know I'm probably overreacting but am I?

1. 19 days for an order, maybe.
2. $9.00 off and I still have to hope the bike shows up at some point.
3. Refund in 3 days but I have to drive wayyyyyy out of my way just to tell them I don't want a bike that they already know I don't want.

Hmmmmm.....maybe I am under-reacting.

Or maybe the diet has me a wee bit ready to go off like a powder keg.

I forgot to mention that the wedding I'm going to is back home in VP, about 1 1/2 hours away. I've got my ice chest full of meat, eggs, and salad, taking my diet with me! Not going to rely on hopes that someone else has what I need.

Myth what do you dress your salads with? I made a brown mustard vinagrette tonight, but by the time I put olive oil in it, it had over 200 calories in it.

Anybody else feel free to chime in.

Sometimes just red wine vinegar. Sometimes red wine vinegar with olive oil. Sometimes mayo with sriracha and red wine vinegar.

I need the fat for atkins. I just use a tablespoon though so it is either 120 calories or 100 depending on the fat. If it is mayo and sriracha it is 100 calories or 120 for olive oil and red wine vinegar.

Most of the time is is the olive oil/red wine combo.

It's nothing exciting but I don't mind it. I actually like the mayo sriracha one although people that hate mayo would
