Great job of dropping the pounds.

200 is near. Are you lifting weights at all or just riding bikes?
I lift weights and it makes it harder to drop lbs. It's usually more body fat%.
I'm 6'1 237lbs. I would love to be 203.5

How much do you think a person can lose in a month and not just a bunch of a water? Thanks.

Cad

I got a new offer last night from Walmart. They left a message while I was out that they would knock $25.00 off the bike. I figure I could use that to buy the bike helmet.

Wellllllll, I open my email a few minutes ago and the 3/12 date........ she isn't going to happen.

They lost my bike in transit and have no idea where it is.

Actually this is good news. Now they know they screwed up and screwed up royally. They know I was already pissed so completely losing the bike would have me volcanic.

So now they are offering 30% off and free one day shipping. Problem with the shipping is I will need to put the bike together, but my brother-in-law is a bike nut so he can probably help.

I wish I had some more coin because the 30% offer was for anything. The email even says, multiple expensive items. That will really cost them if I had the money. Heck the shipping on multiple large items would hit them hard too.

So, I have to admit they have ponied up pretty good now that they really screwed the pooch.

This is impossible to answer. There are too many variables, diet, beginning weight, exercise, sex, genetics.

A really hefty person can lose 30 to 40 pounds the first month just by diet alone.

I think I lost 19 pounds starting at 323, but on past diets, I think I have lost as much as 30 pounds with diet and exercise.

If you lift weights, then a lot of the fat is being replaced by muscle so the numbers will not look great even though you are in much better shape with the muscle and exercise, but mentally it can be hard when you are killing yourself and the damn scale isn't moving.

That is why this time I am dieting first, then shaping.

I'm really not worried about shaping exercise too much until I drop another 30.

Yeah, 30 Cad, 185 is for wimps. :D

i've backed off the weight lifting a bit because...

exactly. i added a bunch of strength training last fall and my weight loss stopped for almost 2 months. yes its a good thing to lift weight but it does slow the weight loss.

i plan to hit the weights hard when i get in the 100s again..i want to be lean first, then add bulk that i can actually see..as opposed to being hidden by a layer of fat.

i have averaged for the last 14 months roughly 1lb per week. thats a healthy sustainable weight loss goal.

however, i had months where i lost nearly 3lbs a week for the whole month. i'll have to dig my spreadsheet back out.

for instance in jan 2011, i hit 220! now that was an anomalie..i was more like 216 at the time..but it scared me and i pulled out all the stops and lost 17lbs in about 1 1/2 months.

considering i have less than 20lbs to go to my final goal..i'm incredibly pumped.

i may move the goal again once i get there..but like taking one football game at a time, i'm not looking down the road too much yet. lets focus on 185 first.

yes!!

see my response. i'm with you..i'll still have the love handles at 185..but considering i wasnt sure i'd ever see 200 again..185 (techinally 187 was my original goal..adjusted it to match u) seemed like a stretch goal.

i dont intend to just quit when i get there..gonna see how low i can go..if i start looking anemic thats when i put the brakes on and work the weights hard.

i was originally going to be happy with 15% body fat..but now who knows. lets keep going and see what happens.

ps can a thread be anchored and stickied at the same time??? for like the last 2 days i haen't seen any 'new' by posts..but when i come into this thread theres lots of new postings.

Houston, we have another problem. They don't offer one day shipping for the bike. :D

Back to a long wait if I take the discount since I can't use the discount at a physical location because the stores and the online department are separate entities.

Is god sending me a warning that I will kill myself if I ride a bike on the levee?

Reportin in from my dad's house (has a spare computer hooked up to a 52" Bravia O_O) to report that I didn't cheat my diet

Made it through the bachelor party without drinking any alcohol, made it through the reception with only eating a few veggies. I ended up going 17 hours without eating because there was nothihng to eat there (and once I got home it was too late to eat anything heavy) so I didn't eat til I got up this morning, but I didn't cheat!

Fantastic Hulk!

Cad

Those damn almonds are a danger to have around. I've tried to portion control those bad boys and wasabi peas and the end result is never good.

I did learn to move the damn peas and almonds AWAY from the computer. Slightly easier to portion control when they are in the pantry away from my computer chair.

If I can behave on my birthday, I should be below 200 this coming week for the first time in probably 27 years. Ouch!

Oh, I got them to knock another $10.00 off the bike since they promised me 1 day shipping but the bike doesn't have 1 day shipping. So with the shipping costs and discounts they are giving me about $100.00 off.

But, back to waiting until the 12th-14th for the bike.

Very slow now but steady. I saw someone saying that the coming warm weather should boost things a little, I think so.

Wal-Mart is trying to kill me. I don't have the patience to post the new adventures in ordering a freaking bike.

I'll post about it tomorrow.

Blew it out yesterday. Lunch at cayote blues and six pack of Abita strawberry. First time over 1200 calories in about a month. But back at it today. Hoping the scale is not too unkind next friday. Probably consumed between 1800 and 2000 calories.

No regrets though. Had a great time!
