Parmesan/paprika and pork rine crusted chicken is a once a week meal for me. I toss some Rao's on it with a little mozzarella.
Delicious.
The baby spring mix is good in smoothies. It's a little off putting at first. But then it's something you look forward to, IMO.

I've been crushing pork rinds, trying to hide them from the public. I feel like someone is going to come up to me and be like "are you eating fried pork skins?" "why yes, yes I am. "
My gf's dad has been keto for 3 years.. he always has cracklins in his truck. Nobody questions it, in fact they love it because he always has cracklins they can snack on. I bought a big arse pack of pork belly from Costco, I think I want to try to make cracklins myself.
Anyone have a good recipe for mayonnaise that doesn't use soybean oil? I'd like to make a mayo with a good mix of saturated and monounsaturated fats. Butter/olive oil is good, but IDK how that'd hold up as a mayonnaise. Was thinking avocado oil and coconut oil, but I don't want my mayo to taste like coconut. Suppose I could try it out, anyway.

Yeah olive oil is good. I've had that before. I want to make a blue cheese dressing with homemade mayo and olive oil, so I am trying to find a good oil with a decent amount of saturated fat (olive oil and blue cheese are primarily monounsaturated fats)

Hulk, I think you can buy mayo from olive oil no?
Pretty sure Kraft makes it....

LSUweights, is there any kind of logic behind a cheat meal other than to not drive yourself crazy.
Dave Palumbo but it best for me. He explains how your body prefers to run on ketone bodies. It's healthier for the liver, kidneys, heart, etc... But your brain has to have some form of carbs/sugars to function normally, which is why you get massive headaches in ketosis. The cheat meal is not only to fill out the muscle, but mainly to feed the brain... which is why he says never do a serious keto diet (competition keto diet) longer than 6-7 months. He says brain damage can occur

Awesome, thanks man. How often do you do one?
I'm kinda worried about what point I should start putting some fruits into my diet, it just doesn't feel right not eating bananas and oranges.
Again, I'm not trying to lose all that much, I'm 5-11, 185-190 right now, just want to get more cut and see my bottom 4 abs.
Do you have any links or literature you can provide on a cheat meal schedule?

You can, but it's chocked full of crap.

I want to make my own that's not full of junk. Eggs, mayo, oil, apple cider vinegar

the Costco belly doesn't have the full skin attached, so it's not ideal for cracklin. Can't get it to pop. Need to get the belly from the freezer section of restaurant depot.
thread about my costco cracklin experiment

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

If you're ever in Opelousas, Billy's cracklins are the shite. Kartchner's (sp?) in Krotz Springs has some damn fine cracklins as well.

If you're gonna have a carb-up meal after following Keto diet, you don't want it to be fruit. The fructose will fill your liver glyocgen. You want glucose or sucrose to help fill your muscle glycogen.

Leblanc's/Alexander's in Lafayette off of University had some really good cracklin

Yeah same Billy's as in Scott and Krotz Springs. I find each location to be slightly different.
Pepperjack boudin ball and smoked boudin are outrageously good.
I loved their seasoned cracklin.. the fat was melted like butter, but the skin was still crunchy. It probably depends on how you like your cracklin.

According to Dave Palumbo, continuing on a strict, competition style keto diet will starve the brain over a long period of time, killing brain cells the same way that drinking alcohol does

Every 2 years for a show, usually run it from February to June on a standard keto diet.
From June to competition, (usually around August or September), on a strict competition style keto diet

The guys on here know more about standard keto diets than I do. They are a good resource. They come up with some really awesome recipes and meals that you should look into. I take mine to the extreme and do it for competitions only.

Everything I have been taught or read pretty much says the same thing. Cheat meals should start after being in ketosis for around 2 months. They can be a clean cheat or an all out fatty fest. They are done once a week. Make your cheat meal the last meal of the day and make it on the same day every week.

What's an example of a clean cheat?
Some kind of sandwich on wheat maybe?
