Well folks, I haven't posted in awhile but I wanted to stop by and tell ya'll I'm on day 3 of my "I quit eating bread" diet change. If I can make it through the week, I will quit eating chocolate. These two things are huge bad habits of mine. I managed to quit drinking all carbonated drink awhile back, which was the first step to better health but I do allow one diet coke per week. Otherwise I am sticking to water, crystal light type lemonade, and unsweet tea.

just found out there are 20 calories in each mcd's creamer..i take 3 in my coffee.

i also have between 3-4 cups a day. assuming an average of 200 calories per day * 365 that equals 73,000 calories i consumed last year from coffee!!!!

divide by 3500 (calories it takes to lose 1lb) that comes out to 20lbs.

if i cut that in 2..thats still 10lbs more i could have potentially lost last year.

today marks day ONE of drinking coffee black with 2 splenda

i've already adapted to the taste.

I just started drinking coffee in November. I use 1 splenda for a normal cup or 2 for my large mug. I've been pounding down a pot a day for 2 months.

The last two days I stopped and man o man, I can see I am hooked to caffeine. I've been slow as hell the last 2 days and I have had a headache.

My options are to give up the java or ride the addiction.

I'm fine with riding.

I am far from a health/diet expert, but I am thinking this will not help your weight loss at all. I love coffee but limit myself to 2 cups per day.

Or just cut back?

I have a Keurig machine at home and at the office. That one thing helped me cut back to the 2 cups a day. I get good hot coffee and enjoy it, but there is not a whole pot sitting there (probably luke warm or burnt) for me to down. FWIW.

And don't forget, we are supporting you this weekend at the bday bash.

I don't mean to upstage anyone but coffee is one of the best things you can drink. It has fat burning properties and also decreases insulin sensitivity. I have research studies that support these claims if anyone is interested.

On the flip side, there is a certain amount of caffeine that is "too much." Once one consumes greater than that amount, cortisol levels rise.

I don't have the formula for optimal caffeine intake vs bodyweight but I can probably find it if anyone wants.

As for sucralose (Splenda), there is not conclusive evidence that is harmful. However, it is not actually zero calories. Zero calorie sweetners use a binder called maltodextrose. It provides a miniscule amount of calories. Is it enough to make a difference? Probably not but then again, it's something to consider.

No worries from me. I admit I don't know squat about stuff like that.

Once I drank coffee black for awhile I wasn't able to drink it any other way.

Going to try to abstain from the chips. I just don't know if I can.

323/208.5/185

Been dropping like a stone the last week. Not sure why. Haven't been exercising in ages plus I pretty much eat the same thing most days. Hope it keeps up a while before the next plateau. Only 8.5 pounds from my March 31st goal of 200.

Maybe I owe the Voodoo Priestess a bonus.

Don't worry, I am sure this Saturday will not be a very good diet day.

have finally weaned myself off Booze for good I think (with exceptions of mardi gras, spring break etc.) Never thought I'd be spending much time in Bogies/Tigerland without a drink.

I've figured if i drink water with a lime in it no one asks why I'm not drinking and just assumes that I am.

CAD, I figured that out a few months ago and now just use Splenda, don't miss the dairy, just took a few days to get used to it.
