It's amazing how taking out something as simple/common as bread out of your diet can make you lose 1/2lb a day. That's pretty much all I have really changed, eating salads instead of sandwiches.

Yep.
Because humans were never meant to be eating all of those grains/starches/carbs. But they are cheap and easy to grow/cultivate, so they became a mainstay, a staple of our every day diet, rather than something to eat as a filler if you can't afford enough meat

I haven't played racquetball since all american was open on Mammoth, that and tennis will defiantly keep you in shape.

If I were you, and just starting out, I wouldn't weigh myself every day. Focusing on the numbers can get very frustrating. Just do your thing and then get on the scale when you think you're getting close.

I'm about a month and a half in, and haven't weighed myself at all. Just the way I look and my old clothes falling off my shrinking arse has me happy. I'll weigh myself when I think I'm approaching 180 lbs.

It's a psychological thing, it just works better for me instead of worrying about what the scale says every day.

I've had some unexpected trips lately that led to some cheats so I didn't even look at the scale this morning. I am going to try a fast today and see how that goes and back to my workout tonight. Looks like a good stretch of no cheat days coming up so back to work it is.

i'm not..just want peopl to realize they're not burning nearly as many calories as they believe by how tired/sore/wiped out they are after physical activity.

that 1900 calories is about 1/2 of a lb (3500 calories = 1lb loss) and i dont think i could repeat that performance for several weeks.

its the food stupid! forget the exercise

Decided today that I am going to run the Crescent City Classic. Its a 10k (6.2 miles). I have been running 1-2 miles 5 days a week before my workouts, and completed two 5k's the weekend before last. Most I have ran is 4.5 miles last Wednesday. Please send your prayers.

I think I'm going to run 3 miles today and then rest until Saturday. Any suggestions to help me get through this?

This isn't my first rodeo with weight loss.
I'm just getting on the scale every morning to track it.
It is my reminder to not get off the bandwagon this time.
I'm trying to get a jump on it for the month of April.
My goal is below 210 by July 1st so I need to avg. 10lbs a month.
The start is always the easiest and quickest.
And real easy to put the 10 right back on.
or more!

The good news is that I am down 5 pounds of the 12 I gained.

The bad news is the free lunch got me again!

Semi-good news is that I didn't eat until stuffed. I started out fine with a baked chicken breast with salad and a few pieces of grilled sausage.

Bad news, I went back and loaded up on more sausage and white beans.

Still under 2000 calories for the day but VERY salty. So I will be up tomorrow.

Damn things sound negative around here. Here some good news:

363/273/250
2 pounds down, 90 lbs altogether. I know my losses are a lot slower than they used to be because I'm not so strict.. but I feel like I'm living a normal life for a 23 year old and still losing at the same time

For the first time since I started working again, I didn't gain weight after eating the free office lunch.

I think the important thing is that you're maintaining a downward trend. 90lbs in a little over a year is pretty awesome.

In other news, 191/188/170. Big 1.5 lb drop yesterday. Also discovered that chicken salad (made with cream cheese), is not very high carb- 1 block of cream cheese only has 8 carbs in it, and the pickles, mustard, eggs and chicken are not bad either. Three scoops of that on a lettuce, tomato and cucumber bed= pretty friggin awesome!

I looove chicken salad and is one of my secret weapons when I go to granny's house. She makes the best chicken salad.. so when she cooks I tell her to just make me some chicken salad

Is that an all time new low? I havent been keeping up with the board lately but looks like you are really doing well

Guess the out of town cheats weren't too bad but still a set back. My workout last night was very good as I didn't lose any stamina from being off for 5 days. Back at it again and will work hard through the weekend. I'm getting close and need to finish strong.
