u ever had a hamstring injury? any advice?

Our trainers always preached the PRICE method for pulled hammies. Protection, Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

Rest it from strenuous use, but don't rest it completely. It's good to walk on it if not too painful. Leave a compression wrap on it, but not too tight. If possible, ice it down for 15-20 minutes a few times a day. When sitting around, keep it elevated.

As soon as you can stand it, start doing some light stretching. If it causes too much pain, hold off. You can do more damage. Calf stretches are actually good, because most calf stretches done properly actually provide light stretching in your hammy as well.

Got off of work, threw on some size 44 jeans. 48s didn't really fit me when I started.. They were very very tight.

LE, in some areas, yes..everyone is the same.

in some areas, yes. In some areas mentioned on here, no.

did u read the study ignoria posted? it summed up what i've been trying to say the last 2 pages alot better than i did. in a nutshell:

extended cardio (30 minutes+) has no measurable impact on weight loss. 15-30 minutes of HIIT or interval training is all you need to do.

CAD, im not even talking about that anymore. Thought we cleared that up? I agree with you on that. What you were saying was either wrong and you cleared it up, or it was just a misunderstanding by me.

My statement was about Myth saying he'll "put his 25 years of failure and the method he used to lose 131 against anything i am saying".

Yes, I took exception to that. He is 190# and has mentioned just in the last few pages about having trouble riding a bike and even walking 2 miles. Sorry, but that is not normal. There is nothing wrong with strictly dieting to lose weight, but it is not as beneficial as doing both exercise and diet.. i dont care what your method is.

And that is not a shot at him. Im sure he'll take it as one, but cant make everyone happy. i am sure he is much healthier than what he was, and feels great. But if you are going to start exercising now, you're in major hole as far as muscle loss and stamina. I can get you just as down as if you were trying to exercise at 300#

And you would be wrong as usual lester. You keep saying that we are trying to say everyone is the same yet you are doing the EXACT same thing by stating your way is the only way.

Lose a few pounds and stay on a diet a whole year then get back to me.

Most people that are seriously overweight are not and never will be athletes. Trying to force them to be athletes leads to burnout. Simple fact that you wish to blame on other factors.

So be it. Once you have lost 100 pounds maybe I will take a word out of your mouth seriously, but doubtful since i have seen your work on the other boards.

How am I in a hole? I made it this far because I didn't burn out like the 99.999% of people that fail.

Most people do it your way and guess what genius, most people fail.

Oh and how about you get your arse up on the levee in 15 to 20 MPH winds and then tell me how easy it is to ride 15 miles.

you dont have to be an athlete to exercise.

my lifestyle changed 3 years ago. Eating better and exercising. once you build steam it is hard to burn out.

my goal wasn't to see how low of a number I could get on a scale. That was just a by product. My asthma is completely gone. I can take my shirt off at the beach. I just jogged a 10k 2 weekends ago. I can pull off near 60 pushups simulateously.

i weighed 270lbs 3 years ago. i weighed in at 212 on Friday.

even when i gorge, the pounds are gone within a week.

i don't weigh myself and have a shite fit if i dont lose a pound in a day dude. It is quite nice, and not very stressful.

so it is safe to say my lifestyle has changed. Im not on any special diet or anything of that nature. At best i lose about 1# a week. I look healthy, I can perform simple exercises and even go way beyond that.

im not saying its the only way.

it is the better way, however. any expert would tell you the same thing, unless you are totally incapable of exercising(ie walking)

That really is a fact. Not my opinion. Im not pushing it upon anyone. Just trying to let people know there are other ways than some of the ways people keep saying are the "only ways"

add learning to read to your "to do" list.

I never said, never exercise. In fact this new debate started because someone wanted Hulk to walk 3 to 5 miles which is extreme for someone at his weight.

At that time, I argued it is better to get a serious head of steam going before moving into the exercise phase.

I am right and you and all the so called experts who fail their patients are also wrong.

If your way worked then we would all be healthy since as you said, the so called experts agree with you.

Oh I have also prefaced my statements almost every time that of course a person is healthier if they exercise, but guess what? They are far healthier dropping 100 pounds than any amount of benefit from exercise if you don't drop the 100.

then you are selling yourself short. If you have the will power to lose 100lbs, you have the will power to exercise. That is just being lazy. You're still a fat person in your head.

You are just so freaking clueless it really isn't worth it debating with you. I love idiots that tell me I did it wrong when I have lost 133 pounds.

Don't you see how freaking ridiculous you sound or are you just the least self aware person on the planet?

Lester, I'm curious, I have a fat friend. How much weight did you lose? How did you do it? Were you a fat kid who got picked on alot?

Were you ever able to play any sports as a chubby boy or were you just a dodge ball target?

I just posted how i lost it.

i never bothered to changed my lifestyle because my weight was useful for football. I have never been picked on in my life, ever.

I would just urge your fat friend to join the board and maybe read this thread? IDK. How fat is he?

Telling a person that they are selling themselves short after they lost 133 pounds is in now way a compliment.

Once again, your powers of self-awareness need a serious recharge.

Yes, back the first time we had this debate, you pretty much did tell me I did it wrong.

So no, I am not being overly defensive, I just can't stand people that tell me I did it wrong when I have been able to maintain my diet for 14 months and lost 133 pounds and yes now I ride 10 to 15 miles 5 days a week.

No, if I had tried that the whole time, I wouldn't even be near this thread. I would be talking about how awesome the new 25k calorie super cheesey ultimate sour cream and beans fried burrito is at taco bell.

I've been failing for 25 years your way, and yet you seem to think I should have continued your way. Well sorry, you are wrong.

You remind me of the guy I saw over thanksgiving that said, you are doing great but you have a long way to go. You two would probably get along great.
