Just curious - what pisses you off about it? I've loved it...

1). The reduction in point value from old system (increase in allotment doesn't make up for it).

2). The free veg and fruit doesn't benefit me as I don't eat much fruit (I know they want me too).

3). The fiber reduction took away a lot of my staples (ie. Fiber one bars went from 3 pts for 2 to 4 points for one).

4). They still are anti-fats bigtime (ie more the caloric adjustment). You could use all your points on ranch (not that you would) and you would barely hit 1000 calories for the day.

That being said, the wife does it and it provides structure

Gotcha. My points went from 32 on the old to 43 on the new - didn't feel like much of an adjustment. But I don't eat a lot of carby stuff - which is seemed to go up in points values the most. Lean protein stayed the same. I don't feel like the points go up much with fat - moreso with a high carb count.

When fiber made such a big difference in points values, it was funny to see how many grocery items were made with added fiber - which I don't believe is as beneficial health-wise as naturally occurring fiber is.

The WW message boards are super helpful and give awesome tips on menu improvement, etc. - just thought I'd pass that on.

Whoa, wait. Your points are 42? Plus your 49 floaters?

I have been giving myself 35 (never officially signed back up - wife did), and I looked on line at boards and had figured 35.

If you don't mind sharing.... I weigh 285 right now.... Am I in your ballpark? No wonder why I may hate it lol

I started at 42 or 43 - am down to 40 now (lost a point with approx. each 6-8 lbs of loss). Did your wife get the points+ calculator (little blue plastic one)? If so, you can reset it by punching the button the back and put in your stats to get your points.

At 285 and a man (I'm assuming), the only way you'd have 35 points is if you were like 80 . I'm 26 (younger gives me more) and female (gives me less).

How old and tall are you? I can do my best to guess points...

I'm thinking you'd get at least 45, honestly. Does she have the calculator?

Yeah - everyone gets the same 49 weekly points. I would work your way back up to 45 rather than jumping straight to it, personally. Eat 40 next week then jump up to 45. Then maybe lose a point every 7 lbs lost?

I hope my guesses are okay I'd hate to mess you up. But I weighed around 270 when points+ started and had 43. So I think 45 is a conservative estimate - men seem to get a pretty good amount more points than women.

How have your losses been?

Don't trust her. She can't sell computers for crap and she destroyed the Dinkins re-election.

Hey Hulk, unless you ate an actual cow last night I don't think you moved back to 355. Edit your weight.

I may increase it gradually over the next several weeks. Thanks so much!

That would seem logical.

From 6'3 to get to 5'9", I could either saw your head off or chop your legs at the knees. the latter would negatively affect your exercise program. The former could solve your food consumtion issues.

your goal is to lose one of me not be me.

Igoringa,
It sounds like you may have found out why you hate the new system. However, after you make the suggested corrections, if you still hate it, there is nothing that says you can't still use the old system. It worked.

These diet systems change things up every couple of years whether they need it or not. They have to sell more crap.
