Sometimes people post the start date after the goal.

Another pound gained.. argh. up to 342 from 339. The problem is I don't know if it's just weight fluctuation or if i hit my ccll.. I guess it's time to bust out one of the ketostix when I get home today.
Maybe it's just all of the things going irl, with my truck and mom and all, but I'm starting to feel a lack of motivation. But the thing is it's a lack of motivation for all things, like I'm getting depressed. And then this weight gain's just making me flat-out frustrated. I stopped exercising because I'm lazy... I need to get back on that horse as well..

I know the feeling, the warmer it gets, the less I want to get outside or go to the gym and sweat.
With everything you've had going on, it wouldn't suprise me at all if you were a little depressed. Might help to talk to someone, or spend some time with someone you know can make you laugh and have a good time with. Thats my pep me up trick.
I bought a bikini yesterday to hang on my fridge to remind me bathing suit season is just around the corner, man, talk about depressing!I'm moving in the right direction, but MAN i have so far to go! Wish there was some magical pill I could swallow to motivate me to excercise, or make me like it, but I just hate it. Makes me feel so gross and stinky, but I will be looking all hot and junk this summer, so it will be worth it. Just keep that in mind, YOU CAN DO IT AND IT'S WORTH IT!

Hang in there Hulk. You're changing your life. You've only been at this a little while compared to how long it took get where you were. You can talk to your mom anytime you want. I talk to my dad all the time. he doesn't answer out loud but I know his answers. The truck situation is one you'll laugh about when you're my age. a little prayer doesn't hurt either.

Thanks guys. I'm sure one day I'll be laughing at the truck situation but as for right now it sucks. I have to bum rides to work from coworkers, my friends have to take me grocery shopping, I've been cooped up in my 1,075 sq ft apartment for over 2 weeks now. Cabin fever, feel like I'm going nuts
And now I have to rent a vehicle to make it to work tomorrow and so I can go grocery shopping.
All I want is for my truck to be fixed, it doesn't seem like so much to ask for. But apparently the insurance company and the company that shipped the parts for my truck do. The insurance took forever to get the estimates and approve everything, then the parts are late. At best they got to the body shop this morning. The body shop people are nice, the owner is going to work all weekend on my vehicle just to get it ready asap, they said it should be ready to pick up Tuesday. But that doesn't change the fact that I've now gone 2 weeks without a vehicle >_< You don't realize how much you depend on a vehicle until you don't have one..

broke through latest plateau this week and lost 3 lbs for the week. kept the cals at or below 1200 and carbs in the 50 to 75 range until last night's CPK Pizza cheat.

Down another 1.5 lbs in the last 2 weeks or so. My pattern has been to do really well during the week and have a cheat or 2 during the weekend. I don't have a goal date set, I just want to keep the downward trend going until I get to a healthier weight. Doing the Relay For Life tonight, so I've got an hour to walk from 1115-1215 so maybe that will get me back into the 180's for the first time in a couple of years.
Hulk- keep it up, man. Don't give up on the 20lbs you lost already just because of a little gain. keep it up and the weight wil come off again. ??

Not giving up because of a little gain, just frustration piled on top of everything else going on. And I haven't been able to sleep well this week. I've been having to bum rides from a coworker to make it to work and I gotta get up at 5:30.. and I can't sleep before like 12 AM so I'm freaking tired.

Hulk been there done that with the gains for no reason and the plateaus. I know they can really piss you off and be frustrating as hell. Just keep venting that frustration here and not on the fridge.
Years of bad eating can't be overcome in a few months.
I would suggest heading back into induction. I really think you should have stayed in it longer. I always took from Atkins that you need to lose most of the major weight you want to lose in induction then once the bulk was gone you could move into the other stages.
And when I can't take induction any longer, I usually take about a 10 day break and add a few carbs, then move back into induction.
As I said yesterday, I am sick of chicken so I've moved out of induction by adding a cup of beans and sausage to the menu for the next 10 days.
Once that meal plan is used up, I'll head back into induction.
I just think you probably added a few too many carbs back into rotation.
Whatever you decide, just keep coming here and keep plugging away. You can do this but nobody said it would be easy. I've been a grumpy arse hermit for a year but it was worth it. At your age, it will definitely be worth it so you don't have to carry around all that weight for 20 years like I did.
Good luck and god bless.

I'm really considering going back into induction.. I realized that I don't get that many extra choices by coming out of it. I might just go back into induction and eat a handful of nuts for one snack instead of a piece of string cheese, or some berries or something.
I'm also considering changing the way I think about "dieting" and making it a low carb diet, not Atkins. Just a new way of eating instead of a diet. That plus exercise will go a long way. Stick to around 20 carbs a day but different kinds, not just salad and a serving of veggies.. because if I just eat 2 cups of salad and a cup of veggies, with everything combined I tend to only hit like 12-13 carbs per day according to myfitnesspal.

hulk...dude..u have lost OVER TWENTY POUNDS ALREADY. its taken me over a year to lose 60! YOU'VE LOST A THIRD AS MUCH AS ME IN ONLY A MONTH OR SO!!! go pick up a 20lb barbell as motivation of what you've already done.
keep going. it gets easier i promise as you adapt to new eating habits and your body responds.
you should put your daily weight in a spreadsheet. seriously. you can loswe track of how much you've lost and over what time period sometimes when you're in one of those 'i'm stuck in a 5lb range and it feels like forever since i've dropped'. look at the spreadsheet:
PUT IT IN A DAMN DOT GRAPH and FOCUS ON THE 5-LB ranges. Work to get in the '350-555' range and stay there..then work to get in the '345-350' range..forget the daily number..try to keep your weight in the given target zone..then start moving to the lower end of that 5-lb range.
the spreadsheet will reveal over time how much its falling off. its an amazing thing to see after only 2 or 3 months to look at the graph and realize you're doing the right things and you know what to do.
dont get discouraged. seriously. even if you did pig out one meal..remember the day is NOT SHOT. thats one hurdle i had to overcome..the temptation because i had 'blown it' by having a big meal..to eat another one late that day.
trust me..one pig-out in a day will not even register as a blip..you cant physically sit down and eat 5lbs in a single meal..so any fluctuations would be water only until your body dumps (literally) that food.
now..if you mentally say 'i blew it at lunch so the day is ruined and i'm going to eat a big dinner'...this is where u run the risk of packing in too many calories in a single day..and that will show up over the next 5-7 days.
in short, just pay attentino and do something to motivate you.
in addition to the spreadsheet, i highly HIGHLY recommend the COD perks. make up little goals and work towards them. put them on a freaking whiteboard or piece of paper on your fridge if you have one..and draw a big arse line through them when u hit them.
make them 5-10lbs apart (or fewer as you lose) and you will realize just how damn good it feels to mark them as you go.
as an exmaple, i have the following (my goal isnt what i list on here..tahts just to compete with myth)
- 196 - 61 lbs down
- 192 -65 lbs down
- 189 - dropped to new range
- 187 - 70lbs down & my ORIGINAL 2010 goal
- 185 - myth's goal
- 182 - 75lbs down
- 179 - new range hit!
- 177 - 80lbs down
- 175 - 2011 GOAL END STATION
as u can see, i'm shooting to end up another 21lbs or so lighter..but i got a TON of goals to hit before i lose that. they're closer together because its getting harder to lose at this point so still crossing 'perks' off with regularity helps me mentally.

For the laugh
I was just feeling really down in the dumps this morning. I've begun to miss my mom a lot in the past few days.. Normally I'd not talk to her for like a month at a time and then I'd start getting lonesome so I'd call her and talk to her for an hour or so and every 4-6 months I'd drive down and visit everyone. But I can't talk to her anymore. It hurts. I'm having a hard time coming to grips with that right now. And I'm having to deal with my truck at the same time.. it's a lot to handle

i konw what you mean. its hard to lose people you are close to in those moments when u forget and go to call them and then it hits you you cant.
well your support group (motley crew that we are) are here and have a good ear.
eta i edited my response a little. seriously, make you a chart in excel and look at it for 5 minutes every day. it will really motivate you.

MyFitnessPal does something like that with a graph that shows my weight. I think it's in a 5-lb range but idr. I'll get excel and do that too though

Hulk
I am no doctor and I also did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but I mentioned on another site that I have horrific sleep problems and several people suggested melatonin.
So I grabbed the 5mg bottle at Wal-Mart and boy has that crap helped my sleep. I don't know if it is placebo or real, but for 2 weeks I have been falling asleep MUCH faster.
Once again, I know nothing about Melatonin. I googled it a bit and didn't see any horror stories or warnings so you might want to look it up and check it out.
