I just looked up the KFC nutritional info. Does anyone else find it strange that a grilled wing has 1 carb, but none of the other grilled pieces do?
Carbs go straight to my gut. I guess they go to a chicken's wings.

yeah strange. Oh well, I devoured that piece of breast and thigh
I told the girl I wanted only chicken nothing else, she still put a damn biscuit in my box. Had to give my biscuit away.
ETA:
I found a good message board for Atkins:

There are some serious experts on there. Like Cad level or more. And there are some AWESOME-looking recipes. Reading some of them and drooling even though I just ate.

for the atkins guys, are there any low carb or no carb alcoholic drinks you can have?
Posted on 3/17/11 at 4:51 pm to Lester Earl
Nope. Not during induction. Once on OWL, you can have small amounts.

After induction they still don't really recommend drinking but if you "have" to, vodka and gin don't have carbs. Your body burns the alcohol and goes right back into ketosis afterwards because as it burns the alcohol it doesn't turn into sugars or something like that - so it doesn't *kill* the diet but it does slow you down significantly until your body is done burning the alcohol.. You can get away with small amounts of drinking after induction.

Holy crap I just made the BEST salad dressing I may have ever tasted. Patting myself on the back.
2 tsp regular mayo (my fav is blue plate)
1 1/2 tsp horseradish mustard
a few drops of red wine vinegar

Nice. I've learned mayo with red wine vinegar and sriracha, or wasabi or anything seems to taste great when hungry.

I could sit down and eat a bowl of just that dressing. I imagine it'd go fantastic on tuna as well.. Gonna have to try that soon..

Hulk,
Mix red wine vinegar with mayo and Splenda. Then roll in broccoli, carrots, grapes and pecans. Awesome!

Cheated a little. At The Londoner with some friends and they all ate so i ordered a little side salad with a lemon vinaigrette.. Pretty sure i went a little over 20 carbs. :queuehermitadvice:

Hey Hulk, where on that link do you go? Which Forum?

You don't need to me a complete hermit. I've still gone out once or twice a month. But I'm old so that was almost normal to start out with.
And as I have said before, I have had several binges over the last year. They key is not using one binge to just give up.
So going a little over your carbs isn't going to kill you. Don't sweat it.

GEEK ALERT:
ok i did 2 days worth of carmichael field tests..you basically go balls-to-the-wall for 2 8-minute stretches..and plug in your power wattage output and average heart rate into a crazy-arse formula to get your 'functional threshold' for bike training.
i dont know if i mentioned yesterday that i found out the reason i sucked ball on sat was because my rear brakepad was dragging the wheel
well i fixed that problem yesterday..instantly jumped from 14mph to 19mph with LESS EFFORT. yep what an idiot.
ANYWAY..here's the super 'cool story bro' part of this. i had been training for a couple months..using 167 as my 'functional threshold' (max heart rate u can hold for extended time period..essentially your lactate threshold).
guess what my avg HR came out to be? 166 yesterday and 167 TWICE today. holy crap batman..the number i guessed at ended up being the it..DOWN TO THE DAMN DIGIT. CSB..CSB.
anyway, the HR was pretty much same yesterday..but my power output jumped from 270 to 294!! this is a BIG DEAL(tm) and had i used the number from yesterday to train, i would have been totally training at less than my ideal and would be cheating myself out of potentially doing better at races this summer.
really glad i went back & repeated the field test today even though i almost coughed up a lung when i was done.

My favorite Atkins dressing (a balsamic vinaigrette, this is for one serving, but you can double it no problem)
3 tbls EV olive oil
2 tbls balsamic vinegar
1 packet splenda
salt
fresh ground pepper
1 tsp. dijon mustard
chopped fresh herbs. I like basil, thyme and chive.
whisk everything together but oil.
Then add oil in a thin stream while whisking.

WTH MAN I'm going in reverse! I'd be willing to bet that when I finally drop a deuce it's gonna be serious and I'll drop some of the weight
. I drank a TON of water last night at the londoner as well but idk. I'm still doing everything the same.

stay away from prepared food. just sayin'
dont have to be a hermit but u really gotta make your own food or you'll never get anywhere. i bet there's not a person on here thats lost a significant amount of weight that doesnt eat food they make probably 90% of the time.
rule 1: eating out is simply dieting suicide. avoid avoid avoid.
rule 2: you'll be amazed at how the weight simply falls off when u follow rule 1

I do make all of my own meals. Only exceptions were lunch yesterday because I forgot my damn food, and then that salad.
I'm still in Ketosis, I did a test strip last night and this morning.

thats your mistake. i posted earlier on this thread where the 'santa fe' salad at applebees weighs in at like 1800 calories.

i remember getting that salad all the time in my fat days and feeling so proud of myself for 'sacrificing' and eating healthy
ur doing fine hulk. just keep at it.

Yeah but this was a tiny side salad, didn't have any meat. Just lettuce, 3 cherry tomatoes, and a lemon vinaigrette, no way it was THAT bad.
