It happens Hulk. That's why I said earlier that daily fluctuation can be frustrating. The early days of exercise can sometimes cause slight gains. Don't let it frustrate you. Just keep it up.

this x1000! hulk, it sounds counter-intuitive but exercise can definitely slow u down..muscle weighs more than fat..and this is a good thing.

also, if u are sore at all, it means your muscle tissue is retaining water to repair the 'damage' of exercising them..that will go away after a day or 2

you're NOT hurting yourself by walking, adding this will only help u to reach your goal faster.

Yeah not sore at all.. I know exercise isn't hurting, just sucks to see it go up but I suppose that's what bham talked about with weighing daily.

I guess it should be mentioned.. with all the stress of dealing with my mom's death, "movements" have been very infrequent, it's been about a day and a half.. That probably has a lot to do with it.

Atkins can definitely slow those way down. Low fiber means less action at the waste factory. Plus eating less also means less movement.

On top of Atkins, I take a diuretic for blood pressure which even further slows things down as it removes all the water from my system.

So 1 and 1/2 days is nothing. I've gone over a week. That is why this time on Atkins, I added fiber supplements to my diet and they have kept things moving along up to this point.

TMI! INR.

If you read the whole thread, there have been several times that I came on here pissed and screaming because I had a great day and somehow gained weight. Just a water fluctuation that will work its way out.

Hey Cad

Are you taking a fiber supplement?

Psyllium husk is suppose to be the best on Atkins. I've been taking pure unflavored psyllium husk, and the system has worked like clockwork. I struggled the first few days mixing it with water . Now, I've started mixing it with Crystal Light and it goes down much easier.

Yes I've been taking a fiber supplement, it's some gummy things with like 6g of fiber per serving. This only started once my mom passed, I assumed it's stress. Otherwise I was basically pissing out of my arse 3 or 4 times a day.

and idgaf about tmi. I really have no shame when it comes to talking about crapping

Wow Myth. You're getting really close.

The people I've know who lost a ton on Atkins could not stop losing weight and ended up surpassing their goal by several pounds. I'm not sure if that concerns you, but you are still losing at a fast pace. You may want to slow it down a little if you don't want to go below 185.

185 is just my next goal. Cad and I have a race going on to 185.

Once there I plan to keep going. I am not sure I have a single ounce on muscle on my body so I have PLENTY of fat left to lose.

At some point when I finally get where I want to be, I'll hit the gym some to slowly put a little muscle back on.

Psyllium husk
I take the capsules although I don't take the full recommended dose which is like 5 or 6 capsules 3 times a day.

If I did that I would need to buy a new bottle every other week.

I imagine the 6 capsules probably have more fiber than I was getting back when I ate crap all the time.

Myth how tall are you? If you're 6' or taller I wouldn't go any less than 185 but work out to build lean muscle instead.. If you're like 5'10 or shorter I still wouldn't go too much less than that.. unless you're like 5'2

myth you can eat a bag of dicks

good work.

as for my weight..i'm shooting for abs..so i recognize 185 isn't going to do it for me..i plan to keep right on losing and working out until i can change my body to the point where i'm not embarrassed to hang out by the pool with my shirt off.

may not happen by this summer..but it wont be from lack of trying. goal one is get the fat off..then even a couple weeks worth of hard exercises will have dramatic results on your muscle tone. as long as you have a sheath of fat covering it, you can work your abs 24 hours a day for the next 6 months and aint nothing gonna change.

Crap

I forgot to bring some meat for my lunch here at work. I'm either going to have to starve it out or go to walmarks and pick up a rotisserie chicken.. and that sounds REALLY good right about now so it'll probably be that.. Have to check on the carbs and whatnot first though..

hulk..in a pinch the KFC grilled is ok..but pricey.

its definitely preferable to bring something..dont get used to going to any fast food place to substitute for not bringing food.

pick up a couple string cheeses as well at kroger.

ive got string cheese and salad here at work. I just looked up the walmart rotisserie chicken.. In 1 serving:

-10g fat
-60mg cholesterol
-650 mg sodium (yikes)
-0 carbs
-20g protein

I think I'll pick one of those up and munch on it for a couple of days. Those things are cheap. 6 bucks for a whole cooked chicken..

Oh I figure the Atkins people would enjoy knowing this: mints

Tic-tacs have no carbs, and Ice Breakers sugar free mints have <1 carb per mint.

I HATE HATE HATE having bad breath so I'm sucking down 3-4 of these every day.

Hulk, the rotisserie chickens are a solid choice. Cheap, tastey, and no carbs. Back in the old days of Atkins (when they told you to eat as much meat as possible), I would buy one of those and devour the whole thing.

Those chickens are almost always money as long as there isn't a thick glaze on it.
