Net's calves are way better than mine. Trust.
How was tennis last week? Did you play well? I had my first truly shitty match this week, and I was in a legit funk for a couple days.

Hey guys, I haven't checked in in a while.
Original-287, restart since the wreck-267/250/230
I can say that I feel better than I have in a long time. I've still got a ways to go, but I've made the right life changes. I'm eating better and exercising at minimum 3 days a week, usually 5/6. I go low to no carb at night and have a sensible lunch. I do the 16/8 fast 3/4 weekdays and just don't go crazy during the weekend. I've cut back my alcohol intake during the week to almost none.
2 nights ago I ate rice and gravy for supper and it killed me. I didn't sleep well and had the fois the next day.
It is about to get expensive though as my clothes are starting not to fit

Fill in us newbies. You ok?
I'm down 7lbs in the month or so since I started keto, but have a long way to go still, but so far I'm not bored of eating this way yet.

Ugghhh. What are you playing? Are there 3.5s in your league?
We should have crushed the team we were playing. They weren't more skilled than us. My partner was someone I'd never played with, and our styles did not complement each other. This was the first match I've played where I truly realized my weaknesses. That I'm not strong enough to carry someone else in a match if they're having a bad night. I know I'm being exceptionally hard on myself since I've only been taking lessons/playing for <6 months, but it was a shitty feeling. I never want to be the weakest on the team, nor do I want my teammates to have to carry me. I want to practice more so I CAN step up and help carry us if my partner is weaker than I am. So I'm channeling my dejection into desire to practice more and improve.

I got in a bad wreck last February (2016) It should've killed me, but I am fine now. I can't lift heavy weights anymore or shouldn't. In October, the doc said I could start going on longer walks, and in mid-January he said I could start running, so I did. In February 12 lbs just fell off.
This morning the frickin scale read 250.2, I am so pissed. I wanted to see 240-something by Easter Break which starts tomorrow morning, so I'm going to hit the road hard today.

Kick arse! Especially considering your work schedule. You are super inspiring.

When you started running, were you able to just...run? Or did you do something like C25K? Running always sucked so much when I was heavier. I want to try again now that I'm less heavy, but it's tough to get myself to start.
I'm rejoining the Y this week. I need to start lifting & build more strength.

For my first weight loss stint I went from 287-255 using C25K on a treadmill. I hated running.
This time around, I got a Garmin vivoctive which I mainly got ad a step counter and golf yardage device, but I like using the Run mode. I kid of Forrest Gumped the thing. I just started running until I couldn't then I would walk as fast as I could while catching my breath. I'm little route is 1.6 miles so I finish on the track at the High School where I work. 2 miles just seemed to be a good distance.
My first time out I went 2 mi in 25 minutes. that's walking and running. I can do it in 20 no problem and when I really push myself or have a running partner, I have done it in 18:30. I really enjoyed watching the GPS distance of my running splits get longer. At first, I could only got 0.10 of a mile before needing my first break, now I can go over 0.50 of a mile before needing to stop. It's fun to challenge myself.
I can say without a doubt that I am in a MUCH different mental state than I was 2 years ago when I started running and hated it. Becoming a father and almost dying twice in two years has a funny way of doing that to you.
Good luck

Thant was me in July. Teardrop fracture of C5, 8in scalp lac, and about a million bruises. A Couple surgeries, 4 months in a Miami J, a plate and a donor bone later and I've been released. I can do most of my workout stuff again, neuro wont clear me for Jumping jacks/burpees etc. no jarring around basically.
I'm doing two days a week now, but need to increase that to a few more at least to make an actual difference. I gained 40lbs after the accident, between being immobile and pretty depressed after, but working out makes me feel better, physically and emotionally.
I'm glad you're back at it. don't get frustrated with yourself, its hard to accept that things don't happen as quickly as they did before, but ANY progress is better than no progress, that's what I keep telling myself.

yeah it's a 3.5 league, but some of these dudes are real good

That's the hardest part. I've been a gorilla my whole life. Not being able to just lift things the way I want sucks. I've learned to accept it though.
glad to hear you are doing better

3.5 is legit! Especially for your first year. A lot of people stay there for many years, if not for life. There can be a huge range in skill/experience at that level. It would be really disheartening to play at that level right now
kind of baptism by fire.

Hey really, it's fricking awful.
I didn't want to join, but my cousin was all like "we always need players" yadayadayada. I mean I'm going to lose every match.
