How was the pizza? The best you ever had? Horrible? Somewhere in the middle?

I tried Prince Street Pizza earlier this week. I had the Spicy Spring square. It was fine. It had a nice crispy crunch to it, but I didn’t find anything particularly spicy about it.

My daughter had the Prince Perfection, with marinara and mozzarella, along with a regular cheese slice. She really liked her slices.

I ate my one slice and stopped. Didn’t really feel the need to order anything else. If I were still in college or a young adult, I could definitely see myself putting away several slices after a night out.

But at this point in my life, eating this pizza reminded me a little of eating Cane’s. It fills you up, but afterward you just feel full and lethargic.

Overall, decent pizza, but nothing special about it. I tried it once, and I probably won’t be going back.

Above average, but nowhere near the best I've ever had. It's very good for BR, but I just can't justify the prices. You either like the Sicilian style or you don't. I like it, but I saw/have read reviews from others who said it's too thick. Their round (NY style)pies are actually very good, but they're $10 more than similar pies from other places around town that are just as good. I went again yesterday and tried the Houston Jalapeno, and it's the best thing I've had from there so far. I'd give that slice a 5/5.

I love their videos and am dying to try it if I get up there.

Grabbed a slice of Sicilian crust meat lovers and NY crust oaky Smokey. The Sicilian crust isn't my vibe, it's thick, chewy and not the flavor I'm looking for with a pizza crust. The NY crust is excellent, it has a crispy bottom, soft texture and good flavor. The cheese is decent but they were very light-handed with the Parmesan. The pepperoni is thicker cut than a typical pizza and has a beefy flavor but it's not a tangy as typically pepperoni. The sauce was lighter than I'd prefer and what was on there tasted like a spaghetti sauce. The line moves slow, there's a dedicated cashier but the other workers seem to be all over the place, maybe that will resolve in a few months when it's not as crazy. I'm going to give it a month or 2 and hit them up again.

On a side note, you cannot buy a slice of pepperoni with NY crust, only an entire pizza.

I've now been 3x, because my son likes it. He gets the Sunset Square (3 slices) and I get the Houston Jalapeno (3 slices). For 6 slices and 2 drinks it's $50. I asked if I could order a whole pie, half and half and was told no. They also don't offer the "personal" size pizzas that are shown on their menu. I like the pizza but I don't see how it'll last with those prices. In comparison, last weekend we went to Diversion Pizza in Maurepas - we got a 14" cheese pizza, a 12" "Pick Six" (6 toppings), plus the lemon salmon orzo. With tip it was under $70.

Three slices of the square pizza is a lot of pizza.. but $50 is too much for that and 2 cokes. For fifty bucks, you should have plenty to take home.

They charge the same price in Baton Rouge for a slice of their pizza in New York City and I can't justify paying that much.

Tried it yesterday and I was not impressed. I tried a square slice and a round one and both seemed borderline burnt. The crust was too crispy. Everyone at my table agreed. I love pizza but maybe I just don't like authentic NY pizza.

Finally made it over to this place today....4 slices and 2 drinks $42, and it really isn't that great. Sicilian pepperoni was okay, but like somebody said, crunchy bottom like a stouffers french bread pizza, personally not my vibe.

Orignal cheese (round pie) was okay, crust was good, thin and crispy ,but I like more cheese and sauce than this thing offered. Pizza tasted flat.

In Baton Rouge, NY Pizza and Pasta and Bistro Italia are way better examples of NY pies in my opinion, and waaaay cheaper. Red Zeppelin and Schlitz are better too, but not on my side of town... I won't be back to Prince Street, especially with the cluster frick Siegen is....

I believe his place is doomed.
