I bet you can find it at "Red White & Brew" in hammond.

If you can find it anywhere around where you live, you should try Parish Brewing's Canebrake. Brewed in Broussard in a nanobrewery. We have it on tap a few places around Lafayette and maybe a couple in Baton Rouge. The guy who brews it is a class act fellow. Check them out. Just google Parish Brewing

Where do I find Covington Strawberry beer? In my opinon, it is much better than Abita Strawberry.

they are two different places
Covington Brewhouse
Heiner Brau
Really not trying to be a dick, but they are both at 226 E Lockwood street. I thought that Heiner was the Brewery and that Covington was just a front from the Brewery. Really have no first hand knowledge, just what was relayed to me.

hmmm then im confused. theres clearly a heiner brau strawberry and a covington one. pretty sure they are different.
heiner follows strict german purity laws which is no preservatives and carbonation.
covington doesnt. weird that theyd both be located in the same place.

Heiner Brau and Covington are the same brewery. He added the Covington name to try and increase local beer sales.
So the strawberry ale is only on the Covington label now.
And not trying to be a Dick. But the German purity law does not outlaw carbonation. Where did you hear that? The law says that beer can only be made with barley, hops, water and yeast.

I think he is refering to the wording on the bottle. read it at Zea the other day and it is kind of confusing how they have it printed.

think it is up north some where, Michigan, Illinois, Winsconsin....I can keep naming.
think they left after Katrina but a company from Nola contracts the beer to a brewery up there or something.

NOLA Blonde by a good margin. I also really like the house brews at American Sector.

Post your favorite brewed beer in Louisiana?
Uh, is there any other kind of beer?
My favorite is the Parish Grand Reserve, but it's not out commercially yet.
After that the Parish Black IPA, but that was just at Top Of The Hops and not out on a wider release until they get their new brewery up and running.
The XXX Grenade from Bayou Teche kicks arse, as does their Boucanee' and regular Grenade. Technically they aren't brewed in Louisiana and they contract brew with Lazy Magnolia similar to how Dixie is not contract brewed out of Wisconsin.
I haven't had a beer I didn't like from NOLA, their Hopitoulas IPA is the best IPA in the state and their seasonals (Hurricane Saison, Flambeau Red, Irish Channel Stout) are all good shite.
I'm not as big of a fan of HeinerBrau/Covington but they do some good stuff from time to time.
Tin Roof is improving and should have a third beer out for football season, probably a blonde ale, so look for that in cans. Yes, cans, they decided to go for a canning line instead of bottles.
And then there's Abita, they still probably brew exponentially more beer than all the rest combined. I like their selects from time to time but the standard lineup has kind of lost its luster. I expect them to start doing more limited series stuff in bottles soon to try to keep up with the trends.
