They have a nice drinking patio at the Coursey location though.

Agreed. They did have 1 nice sandwich there I liked, but can't remember the name. I only went there to drink sinced I lived right down the street. And would occasionally get hungry.

Well, you did it right. Drink and look at people is what you're supposed to do at Portico. If you are going for memorable cuisine then you're fricking up.

Second location in BR .. Food is crappy at the one in BR ... Apparently, it, like Johnny's Pizza, is much better in the greater Monroe area .. Sorry to offend those in the Mecca .. It's pretty bad down here ..

What the frick is Portico and why do people think pimping Monroe or any northeast Louisiana restaurant is funny? I mean, it is absurd, but it's not that funny.

Basically a local Applebee's/Calendars that was started in Monroe, apparently ..

Same. Not outstanding or earth-shattering, but I went back a 2nd time so it certainly was fine to me.

Best I've ever had.

I got the shrimp salad (a mixed mayo based salad over lettuce) both times and really liked it. I doubt I'll be their regular or anything.. I don't go anywhere foodwise enough for that.. but I would certainly visit.

Calendars

Other than it being in the old Calendar's building, I don't liken it to anything that resembles Applebees or Calendars

Typical just above "bar food" to me ..like Applebee's or Calendars or Walk On's, for that matter .. Cookie cutter, like the rest ..

That's too cute. Portico fashions itself as a place for foodies so they need to reposition themselves in one of the few foodie areas of town, and it's their present location that's the problem rather than their food.

This is guaranteed to fail. Book it.

Stupid posts consist of the words Portico and Foodie in the same sentence as if to be taken serious and credible.

Portico is nonsense, and Southdowns will expose them badly. It's going to be ugly for the fancy smancy "bar and grill". The burbs are their game.

Has anyone mentioned that their burger is good yet, because you can't just go anywhere in BR and get a good burger. >sarcasm<

I've tried Portico twice, and the food was shitty both times. My suggestion to Portico seeing as they gave up on trying to serve good food, is that they get a GT machine, and make the worker chicks dress in skimpy outfits to compete with the Hooters & Twin Peaks.

A Sysco Outlet Store. I warned my wife not to try the shrimp & grits, just stick to burgers and sandwiches.

S&G? Inedible, she took about 3 bites, I tried to get the waitress to take it back, she made a face, we left.

Will never go back.
