Sweet Baby Jesus.
Just stopped by the Popeyes on Carrollton in NOLA bc the wife wanted some red beans. Having failed to get a sandwich in two previous attempts at midday (Gentilly and Metairie), I figured they’d be out. Also, I hate the Carrollton Popeyes...
Regardless, they weren’t out.
It’s a great fricking sandwich.

The chicken isn’t spicy
The Original is just blue plate mayo
The Spicy is blue plate mayo mixed with the same “spicy” spice that’s used to marinate spicy chicken
If ya don’t think it’s spicy then your local Popeyes is messing up the ratio mix when making the spicy mayo

My kids love this sauce. I told them I could make it. So, I read all the ingredients pulled out my stash and whipped up my copy/ version of this sauce.
Well, blind taste test could not tell the difference between Popeye’s Brand and mine. Only difference was the consistency. I did not have food starch-modified which would have given me the consistency. Nor did I have the next 2 ingredients SB & PS which is okay because they are preservatives. Real easy to make.

Yes, it’s great. CFA will always be GOAT because of their customer service and cleanliness, but this chicken sandwich is manna from above.

Just had it in prairieville very good the chicken was very juicy and crunchy. My only negative is the chicken patty may be just a little to thick in some places. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had from fast food place.

I had it on Sunday and its definitely better than Chick Fil A. Just wish it had a bit more of the spicy mayo for some extra kick.
