A metric frick ton of beef tallow.

Here's their official statement on what's in them.

quote:

Our Red Beans with Sausage is a wonderfully flavorful dish that draws upon classic Creole and Cajun culinary traditions. Red kidney beans are simmered to tender perfection using just the right blend of Creole-style herbs and spices, along with onion, bell pepper, celery and garlic. The beans are also flavored with pork tasso – a staple of Cajun cuisine – and complemented by smoky Polish sausage. The result is a savory and satisfying dish that may be served as a side or as an entrée over rice.

I remembered a lot of fat. I guess is isn't beef fat, it's pork fat.

I think if you made red beans, pureed some hot dogs, and stirred them in, it would be close

I've read in several spots that if you blend in a pack of Oscar Meyer hot dogs, that'll do it, because they have smoke flavoring.

I've used a ham base that has smoke flavoring before, and it does the trick as far as getting that unique flavor they have.

I see Oscar Meyer makes a smoked hot dog. I will try that. I tried the ham base. It wasn't the eight flavor.Too much salt

Research says they are made by Diversified Foods on the north shore. Somebody do some work.
