Haven't had any I'm probably a decade. But pushing aside ahe usual shitty service, this and the spicy chicken/tenders (when they are fresh and actually spicy) ends up being a pretty solid meal for ff.

But I forgot how well they do dirty rice. Obviously they could use some liver in it but that's possibly (?) askin a bit much from a world wide fast food chain.

Cajun dirty rice is def back on the 'must haves' any time I'm swinging through Popeyes until further notice.

Could be I just got lucky with location on my first time ordering it in a decade

It used to be very livery, but I'd heard that they no longer used it. What a shame.

I noticed that the serving size has decreased. They use the same container, but they aren't filling it with much at the Popeye's I use several times a year. It was about 3 tablespoons and not as "meaty". I didn't taste liver if it's in there.

I've been known to dump the cajun rice in my mash taters. It's really good. The redbeans in the mash taters is solid as well. You should try mixing a few combos and seeing what your favorite is Gris.

Well yea. But that doesn't make the above not true. I do enjoy spiking my mashed potatoes with some dirty rice or red beans. It's glorious. Kinda like a mini version of the KFC bowl you loved so much

Popeye's Cajun rice is awfully dry, and they underfill the container. Church's has much better Cajun rice, and they fill the container. I don't bother with Popeye's Cajun rice anymore. When they run a special with two sides, I get the onion rings instead, which I only recently discovered. They're surprisingly good and much better than any other quick serve offering I've tried.

ETA: Yeah, it would probably help with the dryness.

I'm honored that you pay so close attention to my posts!!!

That KFC bowl looks like someone upchucked before fully digesting the food.

I miss the old days when they'd fill up the cardboard chicken bucket/tray with it and just put the chicken on top. It definitely used to have a liver taste as well.

I love Church's, but all of the locations near me are in neighborhoods in which I won't get out of my car after dark (not a damn drive through at any of them!).

Yep, just as I remembered it. Thank you for spoiling lunch for me. You're a good diet.

Popeyes uses gizzards in their Cajun rice

And the serving sizes haven't changed in years. Sounds like stores aren't following their procedures

By the way, I rarely notice voting, but I noticed you have a downvote. It's not from me, but it's deserved.

eta: I think Danny's Fried Chicken has the best dirty rice out there.

Popeyes for Red Beans & Rice. Try this one, take the skin off of a thigh/breast and then fill with Red Bean (kinda like a taco).

For Rice Dressing, no one comes close to Danny's Fried Chicken's!!!

I like how most Church's have the 'walk up' windows.

I will go a block or two out my way to get Popeyes Red Beans. Same for the rice dressing.

Popeye's hasn't been worth a hoot since they dropped the old juicy chicken nuggets about 20 years ago.
