has anyone mentioned Ralph & Kacoo's yet?

For a long time I thought R&K was crap, but I went recently for a business meal and it was much better than Mike Anderson's, IMO.

I've never understood this type of thinking. You have to order a steak 4 times to figure out they don't cook it like you like it?

Even if you're not going there by choice you could at least order something else

It's not really how I like it. It's how it's supposed to be cooked, and it was twice with a combination of four steaks left under the heat lamp too long I can only imagine. Either that or they really just don't know how to cook a flipping piece of meat for goodness sake. I'm going to give the cook the benifit of the doubt and say it's probably the server being backed up and not timing properly. In any case, the burden of guilt does rest on them because they should be checking that before they send it out. Somebody should. Ordering mid rare and getting something in between medium and mid well is inexcusable for a place like that, and especially with the price attached. They comped our wine, and were nice about it, but still man. I didn't come there for that kind of crap.

add in Parrain's to the rotation...your family will not be disappointed.

Bistro Byronz is also making a BIG push for being on my regular rotation as well.

Tell me more about Parrain's. Also, I've never heard of Bistro Byronz.

Interesting, zippyputt, compared to the others that have came and passed before you. Very interesting. I value this new-found spike in diversity of opinion, confounding though it may be.

Parrain's is owned by the Chimes owners, has more seafood and fish on the menu. Not the best possible, but it is solid and pretty causal and not too bad on the pocketbook either.

Bistro Byronz is a cute place with different types of food. The burger is CLUTCH!!!! Love it. But they have fancier dishes as well. The dress leans a little more towards business casual; however, this is BR and people have gone in less.....

somehow I doubt this guy's family, which seem to be from out of town, will know the difference from you picky food critics. Hell they'd probably think they hit the jackpot at Mike Anderson's but LL is not at all a bad place. I'd eat there every day & twice on sunday over MA's.

Where else you gunna tell the guy to go? We've basically run the table on options. Sushi in BR...probably not a favorable option for out-of-towners.....

Another place I really like that doesn't get much mention on here is Capital City Grill. Love the etouffee, awesome lunch specials, great salads and sandwiches...

I like CCG also. I usually never order pork chops while dining out, however, this is the one exception. They are delicious here.

I did this on the Baton Rouge scale, not on a scale of the all the restaurants I have been. I would like to add:
Bistro Byronz- 8
Mansur's-8.5
Pinneta's- 7.5

I forgot to throw in Pinetta's. It's a love it or hate it kind of place. I love.
