Why are there so many Mexicans around Siegen Lane?
re: Survey - when does the outrage over gov't pensions start?

I've been talking to my state representative and senator about the outrageous state government pensions for years. Retire at 100% of last 5 years average salary after 25 years?!? WTF!!!! Plus full medical insurance coverage for life?!?
This is complete and utter BS.
With the state of LA, you get 2.5% for each year of service. Thus, after 25 years you would get 62.5%.
You are not eligible for regular retirement until after 30 years AND age 62, I believe. 100% is not reached until 40 years of service.
State employees also pay a percentage of their wages into the retirement system. It doesn't always cover the defined benefit, should the employee rise the ranks quickly during the later stage of their career. I have done the math on my mother's state pension and she has the older, more generous guidelines. It has worked out about like a good 401k plan would, except she was forced to opt out of social security.
I've been wanting to try Opie's. I eat out all the time, but lately I'm with vegans or vegetarians that limit my choices of locations. I'll go soon though.

Just in case you weren't using a figure of speech.. He's 2,000 years old, not millions. Twice as old as Eric.

Why did Godric wait so long to make himself useful, was he not sure who he could trust?
He is suicidal and semi-apathetic. He may have just been letting them hold him captive because he had a death wish.

You aren't allowed to have more than one person on TD.com per household.. or at least that's what I've learned.
Genius, really.

The answer is not so easy and depends on assumptions. Considering today's markets, you'd be much better off paying off that 6% loan. However..
1) You lose liquidity, should an emergency arise.
2) If rates go up to 13% in 10 years and you need to borrow money against your home, you're going to have to pay that rate. It'll make that 6% mortgage seem like a gift. If you had money invested, you would be EARNING at that higher rate during that time while paying the 6% mortgage and if needed could cash out the equity invested instead of taking out a loan.

My tastes are not very refined, but I enjoy some Paul Wong's every now and then. Usually get the green beans and blackened shrimp n chicken. Sometimes the citrus chicken can be ok, if he uses a batter that day.
Are you trying to PIITB?
Why is the TD board so serious/personal? It reminds me of those people that play World of Warcraft.
I wonder how many more people would join this board if people could customize their names and also not be blocked from joining because somebody else in their household/IP also has an account?

I don't know what the rationale is for all the rabid concern over alters and multiple accounts is. Wouldn't think it would matter either way, but anyway..
The way to quote is to:
1)highlight/select the text at the bottom where it shows what post you are replying to.
2) While still highlighted, click on the "quote" button to the right of your message box.

Sometimes I forget that everyone on the OT has a $300k, 2800 sqft home and makes above $250k a year.
You can by all kinds of "liveable" homes for $150. Easy.

I've tried email and posting on this board 3 times.
I'm not sure why users aren't allowed to create another account. Would save the admins a lot of effort/ignoring. My lady wasn't allowed to create an account because we had the same IP address.
Very strangely serious stuff. Reminds me of people who play World of Warcraft, for some reason.

to get a screen-name change around here?
Do I need to let a mod PIITB?

TD Bulletin board software?
Posted by JFremani on 7/20/09 at 1:02 pm
What kind of bulletin board software does tigerdroppings use? It seems pretty unique compared to others. Is it a custom job?
Did they just show a silhouette of his penis in a photo of him pissing?

I wonder how hard it is to get an American visa once you denounce your citizenship..
I opened an account with Scottrade a few months ago because of the lower transaction costs, but even still, the transaction costs are quite significant so do your research. I don't know how the features compare, but it seems solid so far.

I've eaten at that restaurant before and had the oysters. I was pretty impressed overall with their food, considering I expected more of a tourist trap. It wasnt bad. Good fried pickles, too.
