Pizza Rev cooperate ceased operations and suddenly closed all but a couple locations a few weeks ago. The Shreveport location announced today it will reopen under a new name and new owners. The menu will be largely the same, they're adding wings but the pricing structure will be different.

Pizza Rev was around $8-9 for a pizza with unlimited toppings. The new place will be $10 for a 3 topping Pizza with each additional topping at $1.50 each, so that's a pretty significant increase. I'm not sure how well that will fly if people go in expecting the Pizza Rev experience with the same Pizza Rev menu but the price is higher and toppings are limited.

I really loved pizza rev and was sad it closed. I’m willing to pay a little more as long as the pizza still tastes the same.

I would have counseled against the new name they selected. If they ever need to move or decide to open new locations, the "Line Ave" in the name will be a handicap.

They could also end up like a barber in Dallas who named his business for the street it was on. Then the city changed the name of the street.

quote:

For six years, Mallory York’s barber shop sat on Lamar Street. People referred to the area as South Lamar, so he called his business Shaving Bar on Lamar. ... Dallas unveiled a new name for the portion of Lamar where York’s business sits. Now, it’s called Botham Jean Boulevard.

Also, most people in Shreveport don't see "pie" in a business name and think pizza. The location has a history as a pizza joint, so that may not be a significant issue here, but I would still lean against it.

I was really sad to see Pizza Rev close. It was definitely in our rotation and since they would send us coupons almost every week for a free pizza, we could go and feed everyone for like $20.

If the pizza is the same and they keep the beer list, we will still go as the pricing structure won't affect us that much because my kids and wife just get pepperoni or cheese and I just get pepperoni, mushrooms, and basil.

They had a good tap selection. I just went for the beer.

Pizza was bland as hell, but I was bribed into giving a good roofing review with 5 free pizza coupons to pizza Rev so was pretty bummed....wonder if this place will honor them

Now, it’s called Botham Jean Boulevard.

Easy fix for the business: Shaving Clean on Botham Jean.

Pretty sure it was a corporate bankruptcy cause the SHV Rev was doing pretty well. I liked Rev mostly for their good beers on tap, but the pizza was just ok….very fast though. For me, if I make the epic trek into SHV…it’s usually Frank’s for pizza. One of the absolute best in the area.

I always thought the pizza was serviceable but just ok. The huge number of beers on top and patio seating were the big attractions to me. Shreveport needs more of that. Wish downtown would do more of it.

We don't go that often, but it was clutch for my son's 12th birthday- each kid got their own pizza with whatever toppings they wanted for about $10/kid with drink.

To me what was holding them back was their crusts - pressed out and pre-made. I thought the quality of the cheese and toppings were actually good, and we usually opted for the cauliflower crust. I noticed today leaving Superior that the parking lot was at least half full at 2:30 in the afternoon, so good sign. Hope it does well.
