Pizza Delicious is really good.

Tower of Pizza gets my vote.

For take out go to Brooklyn on Vets. The best pizza in Kenner is at Gendusa's on Williams near the river and it is BYOB with no corkage because they don't have a liquor license. Brick Oven would be my second choice. Good luck on the bar exam.

If you're willing to head a little further into the city, I highly recommend Katie's. They have other stuff besides pizza as well, but I got the BBQ chicken pizza there and it's one of the best I've had.
If you're not, Tower of Pizza on Vets.

I’m with you on theos. I just like that dense, thin crust. Hard to explain but it’s just flakier and better to me. I don’t like doughy crust.
To be honest I’ll take a Red Baron over most restaurant pizzas.

I know you TD folks will downvote me here however, I do think Tower of Pizza is overrated. It used to be my go to place. Now it is just average. Maybe because it is overpriced and I learned that the sauce is straight out of a jar purchased on the shelf of a grocery store. For the price I want a little more than jar sauce on my pizza. I love the feel to the place as a old style pizza joint, just not the price for the ingredients used.

But how does the sauce taste? I use jarred tomato passata (pureed tomato) on many of my homemade pizzas, to great effect. I prefer lighter tasting, rather than a heavily seasoned or spiced thick sauce on a pizza. Just because it's a purchased product doesn't mean it's bad....
If it tastes good and is minimally processed (like many canned tomato sauces), I'm for it.

Yes but for the price I am paying for the pizza itself there are better options with better ingredients is what I am saying.
Quality for the price.
Quality for the price.

Went there not to long ago and thought after the meal that it is overpriced for what it is. Food is good and enjoyed it, just felt afterwards that it was a bit on the high side.

Update: buddy wanted to go to Gendusa's, boy am I glad. That was the best Italian sausage, and the pizza was incredible. It could've been that I was starving after the exam, but it was honestly one of the best pizza's I've had.

What kind of jarred sauce is it? I like it.

Gendusa’s makes an amazing pizza - I truly think one of the better ones in the metro area.
Most of their dishes are very good and if you catch the seafood lasagna special - you are in luck.
Hope you got a cannoli to polish it off.
If you haven’t tried this place - you need to. Just make sure they don’t seat you in the room outside the restaurant. Really takes away from the experience because the service slacks off in that extra room.

We eat out for pizza a good bit, usually once every two weeks or so.
Our first choice is always Brooklyn. It's a dump, but with really good Caesar salad and pizza. You get what you pay for, and then some. Always get the 20" pizza and bring home.
We do Theo's and Reginelli's alot, too, but I don't like Reginelli's chunky sauce, either. I was raised on Sicilian style at home, but have come to love thin crust.
One of my favorite restaurants is Happy Italian Pizzeria on Jefferson Highway in Harahan, across from Saint Rita of Cascia. Everything is cooked to order, so have some time when you go. His pizza is really good, but the other menu items are terrific, too. The pancetta macaroni and cheese, and the baked ziti (with toasted black walnuts and roasted garlic with gorgonzola) are almost to die for.
Tower of Pizza is really good, but way crowded way too often. It's definitely an old school classic American pizza joint, though.
That's Amore is around the corner with a decent pie, haven't tried the Chicago style, though. I like their fried ravioli appetizer, it's one of the few in East Jefferson.
Zita's decent pizza, but with a very different flavor to their sauce.
Café Roma on Causeway has decent pizza, and other entrées, as well. I like their pesto pizza.
Mark Twain, good, not great, although their "Louisiana" pizza used to be terrific, haven't had it in a long time, though.
Gendusa's is now on the list to try.

What about Oak Oven? I’ve never been, but hear good things.

Our first choice is always Brooklyn.
Before Katrina, they were on Airline nearer to me. When they were just opened, I went in there and was blown away by their pizza and told the owner. I got to know him a little bit and he told me he went to NYC for 2 weeks and worked in a pizzeria learning the ropes. He bought a dough recipe and went from there. Only place I know that has a 20" pizza.
quote:We get Reginelli's delivered some now, because Domino's and Papa John's have deteriorated to crap. Hell, we would sometrimes do carryout at Pizza Hut, but they're going down, too. I didn't like Theo's at all.

It takes about 45 minutes.
Pro Tip: If you don't feel like waiting, you can call it in before you leave your house.

I've read on their menu that you should call ahead and order the deep dish.
I think Waitr delivers from Brooklyn, now. I saw one of the stickers on the door, not certain if it's Waitr, or Uber Eats.
That's Amore is four blocks away.
I remember going to Brooklyn when they were on Airline Highway, too. Hard to believe it's been that long.
Reginelli's late hours are the main reason we go there, anymore.
