Piecakens, good dessert to show skills or a waste of baking?

I'm a fan. I've been doing at least one every year. The favorite I've made was a blueberry pie baked into a lemon cake with lemon frosting.
The "original" piecaken is a pecan pie, with a pumpkin pie with a spice cake on top with frosting and apple pie filling as a topper. I prefer to actually bake the pie into the cake.
I've done it with home made and pre made pies.
I never have leftovers so I guess they are liked.
I want to do a three pie, three cake one this year but having issues thinking of complimentary flavors.
Maybe pecan in chocalate, yam in pumpkin spice and apple pie in spice or vanilla cake.
Though I sort of want to try to do a pumpkin cheesecake as the central layer in one.
I personally think the piecaken is going to be a more common dessert especially with GoldBelly's advertising blitz of the boring original style.
Original: ($99 on Goldbelly)
Style I try and copy : ($345 on Goldbelly)

That’s brilliant.
Damn that looks good. The blueberry pie/lemon cake you made would be a huge hit at my house.

I mean it looks (visually) good. But I’d rather just have three separate pieces of pie.

Damn, that looks great. It's basically the "Turducken" of pastry------------and I know how much I love Turducken.

The best Pie Caken we have made is a coconut pie, key lime pie with an almond(wedding) cake top. Cream cheese frosting crusted in crushed pecans and topped with Dates.

I think that was my favorite one ever. But I'm going for pumpkin, apple and pecan this year. Making it for Friendsgiving Wednesday. I'll post pics.
Making the pies tonight and the cake tomorrow.

Holy shite. My two favorite pies. Damn now I want to make that . Sadly coconut isn't popular in my circle.

I wound up doing an apple pie in a spice cake, with a cherry pie in a chocolate cake with a pumpkin pie in a spice cake. With white frosting and caramel drizzle.

Visually, that looks like dessert puke.

Do you make all the pies yourself as well?

But how did it taste? Is it enjoyable to eat?
