Pics of cheap Vietnamese street food

These are from my recent trip to Vietnam. I thought I share what food looks like over there. Not sure to post in Travel or Food Board.
Of course, Pho. The lady asked if I wanted northern or southern version. I chose with the latter. That potato looking thing is daikon. 90 cents per bowl.
This is Bun Bo Hue. A spicer version of many broth noodle bowls. It has pig feet and yes, that dark cube is blood cake. $1.
This is Banh Xeo. Kind of like an omelet except that it's rice flour base instead of egg. Usually they add bean sprouts, pork, shrimp, baby squids. 35 cents each.
This is the lady making the Banh Xeo.
This is coconut corn. It's a breakfast item. Surprisingly very good. Corn topped with sautéed green onions, grounded beans, shredded coconut, salt, sugar, peanuts. 30 cents.
Combination Banh Mi. Best one I have had so far. The sauce makes it great. 70 cents.
Guy making the banh mi. Very nice man. Usually his wife works by his side. I think she was playing cards when I took this pic.
This is banh canh. Another breakfast item. Big white chewy noodles. The brown thing is grounded fish meat which is then fried. Forgot how much this was.
I have a couple of restaurant pics but they look "tourisy".

I don't know why I can't see the pics.
And now I can. Great stuff and I'd eat all of it. The gal looks like she's cooking on a jambalaya pot.
What was the occasion? Work?

Most looms very good. The "blood cake" scares me

God damnit I want all of that.

Thanks for sharing. Bahn Xeo is a crepe. Inlaws make them. Good stuff. Love the prices. :)

It's not bad. It has the texture of jello but with the flavor of blood sausage.

And imagine they probably charged you a few cents extra b/c they knew you were a tourist.
Off topic, but how was the hotel room and prices? What city?

I went to Vietnam for a month back in 2000. I remember some of the best food I ever ate. My favorite was a water buffalo steak that cost 30 cents. I don't know how many pounds of that I ate. There was also a candied strawberry that was everywhere. God I want to go back.

Do they offer a happy ending with the meal?
Posted on 1/30/17 at 9:14 pm to PeteRose
Would gladly eat all of that. Looks great.

Saigon, Pho Quoc, and mostly Nha Trang. You can get a decent room 20 a night in NT.

Here's a couple more.
Blue flower crab. Well, he was blue. Tastes like how you'd expect a crab to taste.
This one is a seafood buffet. You go pick whatever you want and then put it on a grill. Russian tourists love this place. $20 per person so rather expensive vs your regular meal.
