Alabama peaches are better than Georgia peaches.

Years ago there was a really “plus” size girl working the counter at Sunrise on Grand Caillou Rd. in Houma named Peaches. Really sweet girl.

I feel like I over-analyze peaches in stores trying to find the perfect ones. The ones that are just soft enough but not too soft. They absolutely cannot be hard. Pretty sure i'm an a-hole and end up touching every single peach in the bin. Peach cobbler was something my dad made that he learned from his mom. Cobbler is easy and incredibly delicious.

Peaches continue to ripen after picking. So don’t avoid firm ones....pick ones that feel heavy for their size. Take em home and wait until they’re as soft as you like.
