You get that steak cooked ready to eat at HEB? Cooking a steak is a lot more labor intensive than pouring a beer.

Great Raft opened with a shitload of family money backing them, not self financed. And Parish spent money on a canning line rather than their taproom, seems like a solid decision with their beer all over Houston and over to The Panhandle.

They lost that title a long time ago, IMO.

You should see how nice the tap room plans are for their Houston brewery relocation.

What Louisiana breweries would you rank above them?

I’d take Gilla’s best beers over Parish’s best, but Parish is so much more consistent. Gilla puts out some great beers as well as a fair number of mediocre ones, especially when they try to do more conventional beers like pilsners, lagers, and hefeveisens.

Parish Pilsner and Canebreak are both excellent every day conventional beers, and Parish still puts out extremely high quality innovative releases.

Plus, I’m a big fan of their Parish sips series which really is the standard for sour fruity beers. I’ve had some better sours, but Parish ones are always consistently delicious, available, and high quality.

You have to log in to their website at 11:00 am. Less than a minute later, after putting a case in your cart and while inputting your credit card info to complete the transaction, your case will disappear and there will be no lemonade IPA for you.

It’s already available on the shelf at local stores so no need to go through that if you want it…. Picked up some this morning for $14.99 a 4 pack

Parleaux, cypress coast, rally cap

Meh, their Pilsner tastes exactly like canebreak and I don’t care for canebreak. See Parleaux, for good Pilsner examples.

Meh, I don’t find anything they put out to be very innovative. Not saying the other breweries are all innovative either. This state has a problem of considering another hazy as “innovative “ or the weird diabeetus stout or beer for kids thing going on.

Beer is subjective though, just my opinion.

At this point, what constitutes innovation to you?

Per Parish FB page, they're having the release at Todd Graves' tree house.

This is glorious for the board. A Parish and Cane's thread all in one to get so many upset.

Traditional styles made well. Pilsners, doppelbock, helles, German Hefe, brown ale, west coast IPAs, Mixed fermentation, anything Belgian. Basically, anything but the haze and candy store beers and Amber.

But again, that’s me. I’ve been veering back to the classic styles for over a year now, with particular interest in well made pilsners. I know haze and candy beer sells better than what I like to drink though.

Innovation literally means a new way of doing something

But yeah, I get it, there's a brewery 20 minutes away that specializes in well-crafted lagers. An assortment of exceptional pilsners, hefes, etc.

Place is awesome.

I know what it means. Locally, innovation is brewing something other than hazy.

Parleaux is a good example of brewing great beers across a multitude of styles.
