Someone visiting Baton Rouge is asking me for a place to get the best etouffee? I'm not there to cook it, so what say you??

Interested to see what answers you get. I spent my formative summers in Baton Rouge being dragged to the Westmoreland Piccadilly most every day. Baked Mackerel (is that really a fish), (stringy) Gumbo, and (probably cornstarch-thickened) Etouffee. Followed by a huge chocolate-chip pie and a big red drink.

If only to this one poster, that is real Baton Rouge food.

Roberto's River Road Restaurant has a catfish dish with crawfish etouffee on top.

Coffee House in Sorrento has etouffee stuffed beignets. It's hard to top that.

Thanks for this post. I’ve decided to do a shrimp etouffee this evening with leftover shrimp from yesterday.

Parrains is always good. Piccadilly used to be very good but not sure about now.
