$125.
I bought two bottles of 2007 Jonata "La Sangre de Jonata" at $125 per bottle. I already drank one, and may open the other one next year for our anniversary.

It was probably the best wine I've ever tasted, but hell no it didn't taste like $395

When the Mouton-Rothschild 1982 debuted on the market as a future, it was selling for $390 per case. By the first quarter of 1996, it cost the same amount per bottle at auction. Today, with an average price of $1,307 per bottle, Mouton 1982 is selling for more than 40 times its futures price—a fabulous return on an investment.

The famous Bordeaux houses make solid investments, actually. Wine is a pretty good vehicle for investing provided you can store it properly and certify that it has been taken care of.
And if it doesn't work out, you can have a hell of a party.

Not wine, but $500 on a bottle of Dom at Rick's a couple of years ago. I was not happy with myself the next morning.
Most I spent on wine is $75 at Ruffinos and $50 on Nuthouse at Whole Foods.

Though I did hear you buy 5 songs at Visions and you get a happy ending. Is this true?

$20 at a store

about $50
But, according to research and wine people, there is no correlation between the price of a bottle of wine and its quality. Some of the best wines I've ever had were less than $15 per bottle.

I've had a few bottles in the $100 range at restaurants, one or two were outstanding and definitely noticeably better than cheaper counterparts.
I just don't have a memory for wine like I do for beer.

The most I've ever spent at an off premise place is about 180.00 for an 86 Opus 1.
At a r/r I'm not above spending up to 400.00 on an Opus or Caymus Special Select. (Business dinners of course)
My families in the liquor whole sale business so for at home personal consumption I don't have the same bottle cost as you people.
We drink Silver Oak at my house like most folks drink Coca-Cola. My uncle just gave me two bottles of Krug Grand Cuvée to drink NYE.
I can taste every penny in the difference between reds. But with the sparkling wines, I'd never consider paying more than 60 bucks on a bottle.

That is kind of true. It really depends on where you get it from. I bought a bottle of wine in Italy for $15 that sells for over $100 in America. For some reason, we increase our prices drastically. I get the shipping and all, but it seems excessive.
Oh, and one time, I went to a wine tasting. There, we tasted $5 bottles of wine, $20, $50, $100, and so on, and the prices were listed on the bottles. Anyway, we said we enjoyed the $5 bottles of wine more and every other couple liked the $100/bottle more.
At the end of the tasting, the vineyard owners told us that they switched the prices to see how we would react. That the $5 was actually the $100 bottle, and vice-versa. It was just funny to see how people let price rule their natural palate.

I spent $450 on an older bottle of Groth in Aspen this year. It was nuts!
It was on the Company card. I would never think about doing something like that with my own money!
