Get some of that sausage/cheese/jalepeno bread while you're ordering
Gonna place an order soon. As someone who's never had boudin or any of the Louisiana styled sausages, what should I get besides the bread?

Smoked boudin
Tasso for making beans
Any of their stuffed chickens, quail, cornish hens
All delicious.

You got some great info here. Just adding two different places to try would be Best Stop out of Scott or Poche Bridge meat market out of Breaux Bridge.

Rabideaux's. I think it's okay, but I don't find it has enough smoke flavor for my taste. I've tried it several times. I just grilled some last week and while it was tasty, it was just not smokey enough for me.
This is 180° opposite of dozens of my experiences with Rabidesux's.

but I don't find it has enough smoke flavor for my taste

I live outside of Raleigh and looking for sausage as well.
The Butcher's Market has a decent Andouille. It's not like the stuff mentioned in here, but it's the best I've found in the area

None that I ever found. I doubt many would even be able to pronounce it correctly...

The flavor is definitely better than those, but I never find it to be super smokey. I've used quite a few others I like a lot better like Kartchner's, as stated, and Juneau's from Marksville, along with some from other Cajun type meat markets.
If my choice was Savoie's or Rabideaux's, I would definitely go with the latter.
