quote:one of the reasons i spend so much money on lunch is because i will go to some of hte nicer BR restaurants. their entrees are a little cheaper, smaller portions, and it deters me from ordering alcohol which is really where my money was going.
After reading this thread, I have decided to cut back on weekly expenditures a bit...
instead, i treat myself to a bottle of wine at the grocery store. theres no mark up and i dont have to tip 20% on it

I bring left overs just about every day, bring a sandwhich about once a week. I've only gone out for lunch maybe 2-3 times this year.

$3.86
Well, that's the typical cost really... average is a little higher because every now and then I go out, but sometimes someone else pays.

$0.00
work orders out every day and pays for my lunch. Cap is roughly $12/meal. If they don't order from a restaurant then lunch is catered.

I used to eat out every day and spend around $50 a week.
It is hard to give an average because I am inconsistent. However, I usually have leftover homecooked vegetarian meals about twice a week which run me around $2 when drinks (sometimes tea, sometimes water) are factored in.
Sometimes I'll have a "lean pocket" to control my portions which only cost $1 and occaisionally I'll eat a TV dinner. Those Kashi ones are decent and run almost $4.
Around once or twice a week I'll eat out, but that'll be somewhere downtown which runs me $7 to $12.
$20 a week is pretty good, IMO. I'd like to eat more home-cooking but sometimes I don't have the time.

In a month I probably eat at home 28/30 days. So whatever a loaf of bread, turkey, tomatoes, and chips cost.

about 10$ a day...really need to cut back though

On avg. probably $10 a day. $200 a month for lunch? I really should start bringing lunch.

I have a bag of sandwich stuff in the fridge... make my own daily, sometimes I used my lunch break to make a grocery run to re-stock.
I got bored one day, had the receipts in front of me. For what I usually put on a sandwich, it was $3.86 including tax.

Usually between $7 and $25, but I too have been yelled at so it's turkey sammiches at home for a while.

On the days I do eat out at lunch...7 bucks.

I bring leftovers most days, but I always have bread and peanut butter and jelly at work. Working in the financial district in SF it would cost me between $7-10 a day EASY!!!

I eat Smart Ones or Healthy Choice frozen dinners everyday. So, I spend $2.50-$4.00 depending on the meal. I like to workout for my actual "break", and I often don't feel like eating after.
When I was a chunky monkey, I ate out everyday and spent about $12/day. And, I liked to hit Sonic in the afternoon for happy hour. I would usually talk myself into needing chili cheese tots. The money I wasted disgusts me.

I've been really busy with work lately so I've been going out to eat way too much. My job has me visiting plants and refineries all over the BR area and surrounding parishes. So I spend about $12 a day which is too much. I'm going to buy the boxed south beach wraps. You can get them a walmart for like $2 each and they are pretty good.
