You can still find Charter 100 in Sam's that isn't too bad. I also found some bottled in bond a few months ago but that was luck. I was a 10 fan and bought all that Calandro's had but it only lasted a year. I like Buffalo Trace.

Buffalo trace is an awesome daily drinker. I look at charter drinkers the same as makers mark drinkers. They just want to be drinking whiskey and want to get drunk. There is so much better whiskey out there around the same price. No sense drinking that weak, young shite. Drink vodka if you want to get drunk and don't care what it tastes like.

Charter 12 was probably the best readily available bourbon you could get before the bourbon boom of the past 20 or so years.
I saw one sale for $300 on Facebook today

Great damn festival.

And Charter is a hell of a lot better than vodka, not sure what crawled in this dude's drawers. My grandpa used to drink that shite and it's the first whiskey I ever tried. Sorry it's not Pappiezzzz

Was this in some kind of group, would you mind sharing the name of it? I've been trying to track down some 12 year for my Ville Platte in-laws

What a pretentious frick you are.

I drink Charter cause I like it. I've always drank it cause I liked it. It's the only bourbon I drink on a regular basis, and I can't really tell much a difference between the old 8 and the new 8.

And fwiw, I hate makers, and I wasn't a fan of the 10 year.

If you can find it, Evan Williams 1783 is a great bourbon and the price is cheap, but it does not taste it. When I was at Heaven Hill, the guide pointed it out. Said it beat most of the others they sell in blind taste tests. FWIW.

Vodka is terrible, but it's better than Gin.

You need lessons. I teach short, violent lessons.

I used to drink Old Charter. Bought a fifth the other day and it wasn't the same. I have been drinking some Evan Williams recently and it is a good bourbon for the price.

This.

It's the same mashbill and the same age. It won't be identical obviously but it's close and very solid in it's own right.
