The first place I ever had smothered pork chops...I have been an addict ever since, I may be on an up coming Intervention.

Drakes was where Louisiana Culinary Institute is now - originally a TGIFridays of all things.
And DJN's is now Vic's Chophouse.

I think he went to the pokie for awhile.
And Linebacker's was another old LSU ballplayer Warren Capone's place. The bar and atmosphere were great. The food absolutely sucked. It didn't last long because of that.
Phyllie's Chili was the original restaurant in the Copelands building. It was Phyllis Olinde's restaurant given to her by her parents Ralph and Kacoo Olinde. Great Sunday afternoon place.
I can't believe I forgot Little Italy on Florida and Allelo drive. Incredible Italian and amazing pizza's that were not on the menu.
Used to eat breakfast at The Bread Basket on Florida Street across from Miller Buick which is now Gerry Lane Buick. Actually it was a little farther down the road closer to the General.
Ramano's Grocery had killer plate lunches

i was just joking about Linebackers, it was awful. My now wife actually worked there for a week when she was a freshman in college, she said the manager and cooks did coke in the kitchen all day

It was a cool place and really one of the original Sports Bars but the food just sucked and everyone tried to tell him. Oh well...

Anyone else remember LaPedigo's?
Was that near the intersection of Old Jefferson and Tiger Bend? If so, we used to get crawfish there.

Is Shing's on Government still open? It was one of the first Chinese buffets.

If Linebackers was the place on Essen about where cake palace is now, I am pretty sure it was called Jasons before that and had pretty solid food, it was one of the first non somking restaurants in town
What about the Mill on Essen where Coplands is now, a microbrewery and pretty good food as well

Was Bombay Bicycle Club (now TJ Ribs on Acadian) a restaraunt? Never ate/went there, but I remember the building and sign before it was TJR.
