There’s a new pizzeria opening in Knoxville that claims to it will make “Ohio Valley-Style” pizza.

I had never heard of it so I looked it up:

quote:

Ohio Valley-style pizza is a pizza made with cold toppings sprinkled over a square crust that has been covered with a sweet tomato sauce.

Wikipedia

I have two questions:

1. Has anyone here actually eaten this style of pizza?

2. Is this a sick joke?

I think you’re going to have to take one for the team and try it out so we can know! It doesn’t sound delicious, though.

Nah they cook the crust with sauce and then add cold toppings

It’s the worst form of pizza I’ve ever had

It's like someone heard the sex pizza comparison joke and challenge accepted it.

Or, it's like someone wanted to market microwaving a lunchelable pizza and sauce while being too drunk to put the cheese and toppings on.

How do you even cut that shite without the uncooked shredded cheese falling all over the place?

This is an abomination

I lived in the Ohio Valley and have never heard of this. I also have quite a lot of friends between Louisville and Pittsburgh and nobody has ever mentioned it.

Also doesn't sound that great.

Yeah, living in Louisville and spending time in Lexington and Northern Kentucky I’ve never heard of it either.

Ohio isn't real and I do not trust anything that is food related from that state.

Prima DiCarlo came up w this in Youngstown area, but it’s from a style he had in Italy he tried to replicate it after WW2.

It’s interesting, but I prefer Dayton/Columbus tavern style.

I have lived in either Columbus or Cincinnati my entire life and have never heard of this style of pizza.

Maybe, but the DiCarlos place that was mentioned earlier has a 4.6 out of 5 on Google Maps with 93 reviews. I had never heard of this place either though, until this thread.
