Heading to NYC in a few weeks and thinking about eating at Keen's Steakhouse. www.keens.com
Anyone been there? Any other recommendations?

I've been to STK. It's was really good, but a very trendy place rather than a traditional steakhouse.

agreed. just stick with somewhere in Manhattan. I loved del frisco's double eagle, but its a chain, and not exclusive to NYC.

Did thanksgiving dinner at Keen’s this past year. It was phenomenal and the history behind the place makes it that much better. I highly recommend.

Can’t go wrong with Keen’s
Peter Luger’s is alright, but not worth the trip from Manhattan. I would also check out:
Gallagher’s
Sparks
BLT Prime

Just went to gallagher's about two weeks ago. It was very good. Been to sparks plenty times. It's good but it kinda fell off from what it used to be. Old homestead is good too

Went to Porter House two years ago and it was outstanding. Going to NYC in a few months and will do a steakhouse one night, so I'm interested to see what others post in this thread.

Nobody recommended The Palms? Shame, shame

Another reason not to go to lugers is they only do a porterhouse and some type of ribeye. Those are your only 2 choices.

The Palm. It's obviously a chain, but I go to the West Side location quite often. Great burger.

Last time we went a couple of years ago we went to Quality meats. It was damn good.

Had 4 Charles Prime Rib recently and it is now firmly atop my NYC steakhouse list and I've had just about everything. It is spectacular. If you can get a reservation it is an absolute must go.

I like this place too, but it's been a while since I've eaten there.

No problem if u like porterhouse.
But, look at the Luger menu. The options read as “rib steak” or porterhouse (for 1,2,3, people etc).
Every other steakhouse has multiple size filets, different types and sizes of ribeyes, dry aged or wet aged, etc.
