Where on the northshore to end an otherwise crappy week? Need a cocktail, maybe a bottle of wine, and a good meal. Wife plus middle school kids who eat anything.

I've thrown it out there before - Pyre Provisions. Casual atmosphere, excellent food, good cocktails.

If you want something a little nicer, Oxlot 9.

Boscoe's, Old Rail, Cucina Cagemi, Fazzio's, Bistro Byronz or Impastato's.

Nuvolari’s

They have a really good wine selection, and the food is good too.

Has Old Rail drastically improved recently? I haven't been in over a year, my experience there was bad to the point I didn't want to go back. I remember two menu changes, have they done a third? It has beer, not sure about selection of wine there.

I have been to Leonardo's and it has a good menu including Pizza and Gelato.
Impastato Cellars has a much bigger menu than Leonardo's. But both are good for Italian.

Keith Young's has a great Soft Shell Crab, but I think Gallaghers does better steaks.

How is this joint? I turned around in their parking lot this afternoon and said to myself I had no idea of this place. My office is half a mile away.

We were going there for lunch regularly. It was good.

Then at one point, they didnt have any of their beer. And it seemed to go downhill.

We never went back. I hope they get it together. Their brisket sandwich was good.

They have a new chef.... Brisket is no longer on the menu. I had lunch there last week. I can say the food was really good from the new chef albeit being disappointed in the absence of brisket.

I'm there at least once a week for the past 2+ years. When the new chef took over, there were growing pains. He screwed up a few things for the first 3-6 months. The gumbo is blah, but the dude is from California. His ribs, chicken dish, and a couple new sides are quite impressive, though! The dirty rice is great!

Their burgers didn't change. They're still great.

The beer never "ran out" as someone else posted. They were out of a beer here and there. That happens at all breweries from time to time. Their Cow Catcher stout and Holiday Express ale are my favs.

You mean the way overpriced BBQ place? No thanks! Went once and was floored how much they charge for freaking BBQ. I’d rather go southshore to Blue Oak for half the price and twice the quality.

We've always had really good meals here, and as stated, large portions and great prices. Would recommend.
