The beer never "ran out" as someone else posted. They were out of a beer here and there.

I mean, they were out of like their 3 or 4 most popular beers at the same time. It was long enough that after the third time over the course of a month or two we didn't go back. Im sure the beer issue was fixed.

I do hope they got it together. I like the place and enjoyed going there.

Well, like I said, I'm there at least once a week for the past 2+ years. I never saw they were out of any of their beers for an extended period of time. The Cow Catcher was out once in the past year. It was a week or more. Many of their seasonal run out quickly, but they'll let you know if it's a staple or not if you ask.

Outside of the California gumbo and the disappearance of a couple of the old chef's main entree's, they've never had to "get it together." I have no clue what you're talking about.

Regarding Old Rail, I really need to give them a try again. I think they made an ESB at one time and it is impossible to find a proper Bitter these days.

Thanks for the positive review. I'll hit the bike trail and finish the ride with a stop in there for a beer.

ESB and the Beer List

Yep, their ESB is damn good!

They're not on the menu, but the chef makes some damn good BBQ ribs. Dry rub, Texas style. They just added dirty rice to the menu. It's damn good as well.

You're welcome, baw!

I've only done the bookends on that list. Both are great!

I'll add...

The Rusty Pelican
Bosco's
La Lue
Liz's Where Yat Diner
Creole Tomateaux
Mi Mamacita's
Nuvolari's
Hambone's
Nan's
Mandina's

These are all great.

Old Rail is simply my go-to.

We ended up somewhere that no one has mentioned. Cafe Lynn on Florida.

Really good. Like an uptown bistros that don’t exist anymore.

You were about 5 blocks from me! Honestly, though, I've never been there. I've meant to go many times, but I/we always end up going elsewhere. What did you/y'all have?
